RUDEBOY-ParticipantAs for the surprise of a player getting drafted, it has to be Santi Aldama. Personally I felt the same way about Jeremy Lin. A guy that has the talent to be a solid nba player. But will teams give him a shot? Will they hold the level of competition and league he played in against him. My Grizzlies got a steal. Matthew Hurt going undrafted was a little surprising. Considering the nba emphasis on shooting. But he played poorly at the combine. It Didn’t surprise me that much seeing Ayayi & Nix go undrafted . Ayayi didn’t receive a combine invitation, a lot of people speculated that he might have a promise. But teams didn’t like his game. Same can be said for Nix ,who played poorly at the combine.

armchairgmParticipantGuys I thought would get drafted for sure that didn’t: Joel Ayayi, Vrez Bleijenberg. Few other guys that I thought would get drafted, but I had their range that they could go undrafted so they didn’t shock me.
I was surprised just because of other guys that didn’t get drafted: Marcus Zegarowski, Scottie Lewis but they were on my radar when I was doing my mocks I just didn’t have them getting drafted.
Guys not on my radar at all that got drafted: Balsa Koprivica, Georgiois Kalaitzakis

OhCanada-ParticipantSo we always hear minor discussions about a third round right? And in theory yes there should be a third round it would make sense. The problem with this is the prospects have no incentive to enter their names into the draft. There needs to be some incentive. If theres a 3rd round with no guaranteed contract no fringe players will enter. They would need something like a one time $250 k salary given to any player that gets picked in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. That would cost the NBA $15 million. Big fucking deal. 30 owners can eat that $500k each. Something that simple along with a 3rd round would have fringe guys, especially the Europeans enter the draft.
Give a team draft rights to the player and an option to use the draft rights. If they use the rights and don’t sign the player he gets the 250k. If they sign the player they don’t.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantI’m a fan of Kalaitzakis. I had him in the middle 2nd round of my mock in June. But removed him after not hearing news of his intentions of ever playing in the nba and situations on his contract overseas .
