As the exposure of basketball grows along with social media the talent grows as well. Everyday the rest of the world is slowly closing the talent gap with the U.S.A. yet they are still #1 by a very long shot. Developing players overseas has become increasingly popular and is now a part of the sport.

Last year 7 international prospects were selected in the 1st round and 6 were selected in the 2nd. The internation talent is arguably deeper this year.It wouldnt surprise me to see 10 international players drafted this year as well.

I didnt know much about most of these prospects so Ive been trying to find out whatever I can about them and hopefully some of you can help me learn about these guys by leaving your opinions in this thread.

Any information on current draft status, buyouts, and skills you would like to add eould be appreciated.

    (1) Dante Exum-SG-6’6 180-Institute of Australia Sport, Australia-95

NOTES-Top 10 Pick* Shares agent with Kobe* Lakers have interest may not fall past them* Needs to polish up skills but has great ball iq, great instincts, and is a very smooth player.6’9 wingspan, all around elite athletisism for a combo gaurd.

    (2) Dario Saric-PF/SF-6’10 230-Cibona, Adriatic League-Croatia-94

NOTES-Top 15 Pick* Top 10 talent* Said he would withdrawl without a lottery promise* Dominated Adriatic League* Outstanding offensive versatility, can score from any position and can find his teammates* 6’11 wingspan, average athletisism, teams are scared he will not be long or strong enough for PF and not quick enough for SF which remains to be seen.

    (3) Jusuf Nurkic-C-6’11 280-Cedevita, Adtiatic League-Bosnia-94

NOTES-Top 25 Pick* Was unstoppable in the Adriatic League* Most effiecient and underused prospect on list* Drawing comparisons to Cousins, Jefferson, Pekovic* Danny Ainge recently watched him play in person (Boston Celtics GM Picks 5 and 17)*  Will get looks in lottery* Read somewhere he had an Anthony Davis like growth spurt allowing him to retain mobility at his size, looking for where I read that* 7’2 Wingspan with great body control and very fluid yet average quickness explosiveness.

    (4)Mario Hezonja-SG/SF-6’7 225-Barcelona, ACB-Croatia-95

NOTES-Top 30 Pick* Top 20 talent* Plays on arguably the best team outside of the USA* Plays behind Alex Abrines drafted early 2nd rd by OKC last year* Can score anywhere on the court* Good dribble* Good passer* Great size for position* Excellent athlete and apparently he has a wingspan around 6’10 6’11.

    (5)Clint Capela-PF/C-6’11 225-Chalon, Division 1 French League,-Switzerland-94

NOTES-Top 35 Pick* Did not impress during Hoop Summit* Very quick* Terrific wingspan 7’4* Great prospect from a physical and athletic standpoint.

    (6)Bogdan Bogdanovic-SG/SF-6’7 210- Partizan Belgrade, Adriatic League-Serbia-92

NOTES-Top 35 Pick* Dominated Adriatic League* 22 years old (Hezonja is 18)* Excellent shooter* Needs to improve ball handling to take the next level but is a capable ballhandler* Decent rebounder* Good playmaker* Great athlete and awesome wingspan likely 7’0.

    (7)Walter Tavares-C-7’3 260-Gran Canaris, ACB-Cape Verde-92

NOTES-Top 45 Pick*Great mobility for his size* Developed a consistant shot* Established a role in the ACB* Ridiculous 7’9 wingspan!

    (8)Vasilje Micic-6’5 200-Mega Vizura, Adriatic League-Serbia

NOTES-Top 45 Pick*Strong body can absorb contact* Excellent playmaker* Smart player* Good floor manager* Needs to prove he can shoot consistantly* Below average athletic abillitity.

    (9)Kristaps Prizingis-PF/C-7’0 225-Sevilla, ACB-Latvia-95

    *1ST ROUND SLEEPER*

NOTES-Top 50 Pick-*Versatile offensively* Excellent shot form* Good shot blocker* Huge upside as a stretch big offensively (Bargnani), and a long shotblocker defensively (Henson)* Not enough information on him to rank him Top 30 yet but the eyetest from youtube videos would beg to differ* Quick athletic player that seems to enjoy attacking the rim*Good frame*

    (10)Damien Inglis-SF/PF-6’9 240-Roanne, D1 France-95

    *1ST ROUND SLEEPER*

NOTES-Top 50 Pick*Extremely versatile* Can potentially gaurd all positions for stretches in the right situations* Good ball handling skills* Great court vision and passer* Used like a Point Forward* Slow shot not the best form but has proved to be able to hit threes* Large hands* Very agile* Quick feet but not overly explosive* Insane 7’4 wingspan!* A+ prospect from a physical standpoint* Smart coachable player that works hard and should continue to improve.

Mario Hezonja isn’t in this draft, but you can slide Porzingis into that #4 slot or #5. Nikola Jokic is rising fast after the Nike Hoop Summit, and he should go #7 on your list at the lowest and he could move up.

Theres no information on Prizingis other than a biased video and some biases articles. Havent seem him play (havent seen most of these guys) but he definitely has 1st round talent and potential.

You need to stop using the words like "dominated" and "unstoppable". It makes you look ridiculous. This isn’t the NBA when you are talking about European leagues like Adriatic League and whatever. Players do NOT "dominate". No one is "unstoppable". So stop saying that, because it’s absolutely absurd.

Edy “Heaven Must be Missing an Angel” Tavares only had an NBA career of about 16 games but has gone on to be a legend for Real Madrid so he has had a fine European career.
