Who do you think are the most underrated players in the NBA ? Europeanballer please don’t comment no one cares for your analysis and opinion…..

I think Luol Deng, Jose Calderon, Kevin Martin, as my underrated players. I know Lou is an All Star but in terms of the praise he gets and how many headlines he makes i consider him an underrated player, IMO he is a big part of why the bulls are who they are, also Jose is a great passer but because he plays for a sub 500 team he doesn’t get a lot of recognision, and Kevin Martin because hes always been a great scorer whilst nobody really giving him a lot of praise …

In a recent top ten pg list on here most people didn’t have him in the top fifteen. I’d say Jared Dudley too.

So he is rated fairly imo.

Anyways i’d like to give a shout out to David Lee. He’s been quitely ballin all year. If the W’s were relevant he’d have heavy AS consideration. Lee plays head to head w/ most "top tier" PF’s every night,  plays hard, and his IQ is nice. He’s been a joy to watch.

He was an All Star in 2010 so it’s not like people don’t know he can play. Just buried away in GS. Hopefully they make a deal and get him some help inside one day where he can get noticed again.

Add Greg Monroe in there too.

Definitely Calderon and Martin. Also Yung God Ellis, Lowry, Prince Paul Millsap, Hibbert, Gortat, and K-Hump.

Speaking of K-Hump, dude just dropped 24 and 18 on arguably the best post team in the game, the Chicago Bulls.

This is how the big bois come to play.

I gave you +1 after the second sentence.

Anyway, I’d go with: Jose Calderon, Kevin Martin, Paul Milsap, Marcin Gortat (possibly the most underrated of them all), David Lee (when he was with the Knicks he got huge hype but now with the Warriors he’s just chugging along, putting up good numbers).

Finally, Nikola Pekovic has had a good season. If he has a point guard giving him nice balls into the post his back-to-the-basket game is great, and he is a great help to his team in their push for the playoffs.

Gortat is underrated.  I don’t think Martin is because even tho’s he’s a great scorer he literally does nothing else and can’t guard a manniken.

Demarcus Cousins is underrated too because in the last month he’s been arguably the best Center in the Western conferance he’s even playing better then Bynum.

Lou Williams is very underrated because he comes off the bench but I haven’t saw anybody stay in front of him all year plus he’s one of the best 4th pt scorers in the whole league.

Josh Smith never get’s talking about despite having a monster season and being one of the most versatile players in the whole league who plays both sides of the ball.

Marshon Brooks was one of the most dominant scorers in all of college last year.  He put up monster numbers at the combine showing off his vertical and was one of the fastest people at the combine.  Now in his rookie year he just continues to score and put up nice all around number yet nobdy talks about him as one of the most promising SG prospects in the league which he is.

Pretty much everybody who plays for the Spurs and Nuggets are underrated both of them teams are stacked with ballers and Faried looks like he’s going to continue to be a double double machine in the league.

And finally Jeremy Lin is so underrated when is this guy gonna finally get some love and start being talked about, like he’s putting up good numbers and leading the Knicks to wins but I don’t hear anybody talk about him.

dang Mr. 19134 you beat me to Martin! I completely disagree that he is underrated and Im tired of people saying that allllll the time. Ya its your opinion and I respect that but seriously the guy is 6’7 and averages less than 3 rebounds and not even 1 full steal a game! I know steals doesnt translate to good defense but he doesnt even play good defense either! and he really is a more than capable passer but hes averaged 2 assists for his career…yes he is a really good shooter and all around scorer but he put up the most points on bad kings teams and hes only averaging 18 this year with the rockets so its not like hes even elite in that catagory either.. and this is all coming from a rockets fan

Milsap doesn’t get the love he should.

Luis Scola, Ronnie Brewer, Wesley Mathews, and Gortat are the others that I think of first.

     @SakitSaPuwit My take on Scola.

He is skilled on offense but his D is average which is why he’ll never be rated as high as his IQ or O.skills. As a PF you would hope he’d be able to snag a few more rebounds. He is a smart defender and can read offensive sets well. The one downside to his defensive game is his overall lack of athleticism. His foot speed and range that he wants to cover he can’t be because he is usually the slowest guy on the floor. He can take charges when he is there, but if your the opposing team you have no fear of attacking him in the paint/O.glass for more opportunities.

He could be a beast playing for a team that didn`t have Lebron being the main distibutor.  Serious defence, good size and length for a pg and amazing in the clutch(the 3 in the tourny) Put him on the Lakers and they are definatly championship contenders

Wait, whos Jeremy Lin? I’ve never even heard of him…smh, kids these days

    My "All Underrated team"

PG. Andre Miller- great assist man, not a great outside shooter, but he is strong as heck, and has always made teams better.

SG. Courtney Lee- could be a starting 2 for alot of teams, Ive been wanting the Wolves to make a run at him for a while now. Just a rock solid player at both ends, and nobody ever talks about him.

SF. Jared Dudley- fantastic role player, defends well, can shoot, good IQ, classic case of a player recreating themselves to fit in the league.

PF. Chris Bosh- I’m gonna get torched for this but I think so many people say he is overrated now that it actually makes him quite underrated. He is at worst, the 4th best PF in the NBA.

    C. Andrew Bogut- If he wasnt injured so often, he would be imo in the mix for that 3rd best C in the NBA title. He is an anchor defensively, and good enough offensively.

    Bench:

Kirk Hinrich- Love his game, great defender, really good shooter and not intimidated by anybody.

    Aaron Afflalo- See Courtney Lee

Marvin Williams- Alot of his reputation is because of who went right after he did, but the guy has been a solid player for a long time, Unfortunately you dont spend the 2nd pick in the draft on a solid player, you need a pillar.

Josh McRoberts- Physical player (borderline dirty) but tough inside, passes the ball well for a big and runs the floor

Reggie Evans- Another dirty dawg inside, but this guy seriously could avg 20 rpg if he played 30 mpg, unfortunately he would score maybe 6 points. But he screens, rebounds, and probably smells, which is enough to scare and annoy alot of opposing bigs.

You can’t be serious.  If I post on here, or know that Lin has been playing well, or even if I did live under a rock, HOW CAN I ESCAPE LINSANITY?

I have the internet and I go on basketball sites, how would it be possible for anybody to avoid this?

    It’s called SARCASM…SMH…

Nicolas Batum has always been highly underrated, and not given enough minutes.  Finally, because of some injuries, he’s getting a chance to show his immense skill set.  He’s got a lot of ability on both the offensive and defensive end.
