I have seen Jeffrery Taylor play a bunch over the past years. How isnt he closer to the lottery and Harrison Barnes is seen as a future all star(im a big fan of Barnes btw)??

    Some numbers:42.3% from 3 on 4.3 attempts

    40 inch max vertical

    Against Kentucky 3 games:

    -18 pts,11 reb on 6-13,2 st

    -19 pts,9 reb on 8-16,1 st,1 bl

    -13 pts,9 reb

Now granted he probably wont be this franchise changer. But he has improved aa lot in college, and he does have very good athletism. He isnt the best at creating his shot, but if you watched barnes, hes not very good at that either.Anyways,so why 23rd?

    1. He’s a 4 year collegic player. Everyone knows potential always plays a huge part in the draft process.

    2. He was on the NBA’s radar since his freshman year and I’ve read report from scouts (who always wish to be annonomous which is annoying) that say the improvements in his game for year to year wern’t as big as they hoped it would be.

    3. I think people are assuming his is close to his ceiling already and while he definetly can be a good role player for an NBA team he doesn’t have star potential which is why his ins’t in the lottery.

i all these potential guys, jeff taylor will be ready to contribute right away, i really like him as a prospect.

    his defense is lethal.

his main problem was shooting and he proved everyone that he hit the gym after shooting 412% or something like that from downtown. i would take him over doron lamb

He was a 4 year player. His improvement shooting only happened in his final year of school. I think he is going to be a very good player though. It’s a shame that he won’t go sooner in the draft but some championship contender is going to get someone who could help put them over the top.

The NBA draft and more specifically the Lottery picks are based off potential. Do you think Meyers Leonard is going to go top ten because he’s nba ready?

MKG is going top 5 and has a broke jumpshot, but he has the POTENTIAL to improve his shooting to go along with what he does do well.

    Andre Drummond? Come on.

I was NOT bashing Taylor. I think he could be a very good pro and rotation guy for a long time, but it’s obvious that his ceiling isn’t as high as the guys in the lottery and thats why he won’t be picked there.

Doron Lamb is a late 2nd rounder just like Taylor. Except, Taylor is a 3 and Doron is a 2 that could play spot minutes at the 1. I don’t see why these two should be compared. If anything the comparison should be Taylor (nba ready) vs Quincy Miller (potential) which do you take at the end of the 2nd round?

i see what your saying, trust me, he maybe not have a huge upside but he has a very VERY low ceiling. we are talking about a very good all around player, excellent defender who can guard any wing position… known as a good athlete who can slash but is shooting over 40% from downtown.

there is no way this guy busts, you are picking a sure fire player nba ready player.
