MattissickParticipantHey just wanted to get your guys’ thoughts on what you think he will average next season and what role they will have him in. My guess is 33 minutes, 14 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, lot of turnovers, not a good % but i’m not sure about his role. I guess they want him as point guard but that will be interesting. At 6’5″ and 220 and having only played that position for under a year in college. Making the leap to the NBA will be interesting to watch. Do you guys think he will be playing point?

SophisticParticipantI don’t think his stats will be that high.D.Rose who is a much bigger talent, averaged 16 and 6 while being the leader of the team and the 2nd scoring option.Evans plays next not only to K.Martin but also guys like Nocioni and Garcia who take their number of shots no matter what.I guess 10 and 3 in 30min

MattissickParticipantRose did have some other scoring options around him with Salmons and Gordon. All Evans has is Martin. You could say Noicioni or Garcia but they are really just average. I think 13 points per game is realistic for him. I don’t see him reaching 5 assists per game I think more around 4. Maybe some good defensive stats because of his length. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to expect numbers like that. 3 points per game less than Rose (he averaged 3 ppg less than Rose at memphis too). Will be interesting to see if they have him at point.

deuce4offAll of these averages are good guesses, I’m saying 14ppg 4.4apg 4.2rpg 1.3spg 42%fg 72%ft
Yes he will play point, but will probably get some minutes at SG when Martin sits…..or they could even go small with Evans at 2 and Martin at 3 with Sergio Rodriguez at PG.
I see their starting lineup like this
PG- Evans
SG- Martin
SF- Nocioni
PF- Thompson
C- Hawes0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/29/2009 - 12:18pm #173036
billykParticipantThats would be a LONG starting five….

MattissickParticipantThe kings need some toughness I would love to see Evans and Nocioni out there. They are big and tough and Martin is kinda soft. Hawes is surprisingly decent on defense and Thompson is a pretty good energy guy.

MattissickParticipantAnyone else have any thoughts about Evans next season?
