I kind of forgot how good he can be when he’s completely healthy … I think if he can make that jump in his overall game the Kings could be dangerous next year .

aamir543ParticipantI think he is a good player, but people were saying he would be a future HOF when he hoined MJ and Lebron as the only rookies to go 20-5-5. I honestly think he is a ballhog, and I watched a couple Sacramento games, and his teamates dont look like they are having fun when playing with him. I hope the kid gets healthy and has a fabulous career.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s a mini generic version of LeBron James minus the hops.
He’ll be a good player, but not the superstar people were saying he’d become after his rookie season.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantHe is kind of a mini Lebron if you ask me. He needs to find his true position though to be successful. He took a step back last year and I don’t think he is a point guard but more of a Point Forward(SF) or a Shooting Guard that plays like Wade did before bron and bosh came where he takes down the ball and controls the offense while being the offense at the same time. This would be his 3rd year in the league where they say you learn how good a player is going to be (a la Derrick Rose last year.) so I hope there is a season where we can see this 3rd year class show what their future holds as in Reke, Curry, Griffin(sort of already proved himself as a dominant player and is technically his second year) and even James Harden who needs to have a breakout year. This is why I hope their is a season as the 2009 class has some players I want to see how good they really are in their 3rd year in the league.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantHe could still become a superstar though but it doesn’t seem like it now.. He has a lot to improve this offseason/during the lockout. If he has a top notch work ethic who knows if he could become a superstar as long as he improves a ton on some noticeable weaknesses. But as of now he doesn’t seem like a Superstar potential player after some major setbacks and noticeable problems.

You forgot Oscar Robertson on your list of rookies that averaged 20-5-5.
I honestly seeing him being a sub-superstar. Like what Monta Ellis and Joe Johnson are.
I think he’ll average 23ppg, 6rpg, 6apg in his prime. Not much of a difference from his rookie year, except he’ll be more effecient when it comes to scoring.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve read Evans’ work ethic is very weak.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantIf his work ethic is weak then I wouldn’t expect him to ever get back to his rookie season stats. He injured his foot and if he doesn’t work hard to get that back to being normal and never has the work ethic to improve his jumper, turnovers, further improvement in passing ability, being more comfortable off the ball, and overall play I think he has too many problems to be a good player if he can’t improve in any of that as he would still have a questionable position and just wouldn’t get better from his 17, 5, and 5 last year. It would be terrible for him and Sac fans if it’s true he has a bad work ethic.

NJHooper95ParticipantFredette is the perfect compliment to Tyreke. He needs a spot up shooter out there with him, rather than another ball dominant guard. Evans is in the mold of Brandon Roy, D Wade, and Lebron, where he is not a point guard, but he needs the ball the to be in his hands to be most effective. Evans will also serve himself well to develop a jumper.
He struggle this season because he was hurt and was force to settle for jumpers which is his weakness. We have seen that in the playoffs, with superstars such as Rose and Lebron. As good as they are, if you make them mostly jumpshooters they are very uncomfortable. But if you let them get to the rim and the line, their jumpers fall a little bit more. All the players mentioned above, their jumper is still a weakness in their game.

JNixonParticipantTyreke Evans is a powerful guard with natural strength and great handles. He’s not great athletically, he needs the ball to play well, and he’s not a good shooter, but he has the strength and moves to score very well. His 1st step is great and he can rebound and even shows good defensive ability at times.
I can’t see how he works, but I do get the feel that he’s not all that hard a worker. The guy is VERY reliant on his physical tools to be the player he is, and he’s pretty much the same player he’s always been since he was in HS. Calipari started him off as a SG off ball at Memphis his Fr. year and Evans looked extremely ordinary (think Lance Stephenson at Cincy), but as soon as he put Evans at PG and let him dominate the ball Evans was much more explosive. I don’t think it works all that well in the NBA, and I think that it makes surrounding him with talent harder than it should be.

cward23ParticipantLove his talent but i just don’t see superstar, more like someone said ellis, Joe Johnson. Reminds me alot of Larry hughes when he was good (he put up 20ppg+ for two seasons), needs to be on the ball to be very effective

Memphis MadnessParticipantYeah JNixon you are right, he didn’t do well off the ball at shooting guard but did well at point guard.
I think he can play with Jimmer. Jimmer can spot up and Tyreke can handle the ball.In the Best Team in 3 Years! Thread I wrote that Tyreke reminds me of a smaller LeBron and could have a
25-7-7 season. He’s almost a less-athletic version of a LeBron/Wade combination. He could be a top 10-15 player in the league but maybe not an MVP candidate, but he should be an elite player.

Honestly how can you possibly think that is how you swing in golf? He makes Charles Barkely damn near look like a hungover Tiger Woods.
