Tyreke had a near triple double tonight against the Lakers. 25 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assist.
More importantly he had only 1 turnover and he shot 14 free throws, making 10.

This guy is going to be a great player and just needs more talent around him. His ability to get to the free throw line is huge and he could end up being in the top 5 in free throw attempts, in a couple of years.

This kid has got game.. Comparisons of him to Larry Hughes as an oversized PG are far now… He can play the 1 or the 2.. Kids got GAME.. He almost does the right thing by accident. He’s got all kinds of moves.. I mean this guy is crossing you over while thinking of what he’s going to do once he’s in the lane.. Seems like he understands angles, gravity, and movement.. Might aswell be a scientist!

Once this kid get’s his 3 ball.. he’ll be unstoppable even though I’d rather he never masters the 3pter because that’s when good drivers shoot more than driving it in and driving it in is better than 3s..

You look at that line up. 9 of their players have 2 years or less NBA experience. A starting 5 of Evans, Udrih, Hawes, Landry, and Greene. The fact that they have won 24 or so games in the West is impressive.

This kid is exceeding expectations more than any player I can think of in recent memory. Even he said that he figured he would avg around 10pts a game and get better from there. He is gonna finish close to 20-6-6, phenomenal.

Although Curry has proved all of the doubters wrong as well.

i hate to disagree with yall (& there’s a good chance i’m wrong given i’m in the minority), but i’m not totally sold on Evans…i just dont think he plays winning NBA basketball at this point. i think he’s extremely ball dominant, doesn’t move the ball well (whether its post entry, extra pass, swing pass, blah blah blah, rendering any LBJ comparisons mute), he doesnt run the offense, his shot is broke, he is not a PG no matter how much he dribbles, & he goes right too much. part of me thinks he’s able to put up these ridiculous stats because the Kings are so bad that they’re willing to just let him do his thing. i think his stats are misleading…i think surrounding him with talent on a winning team will actually hurt his production rather than help it…all that said he’s an awesome finisher around the rim, he’s fantastic in the lane, and he just has a knack for slashing…i think he can be a tremendous player, but i dont think he’s there just yet

alphamale, i understand where you’re coming from and you’re going out on a limb haha.. Takes guts to say that lol.. But dude shoots 46%.. so obviously he’s not taking bad shots. And again, he’s on the kings.. and they have 24some wins and they’re a team in the Western Conference.. Now when you said “He’s on the Kings and they let him do anything” That may be true, BUT remember.. He isn’t playing against the Kings.. He’s playing against other top flight teams and repping. Near triple double last night while playing the 2 guard.. You know who else was playing the 2 guard.. Yeah, Kobe Bryant.. 5rpg and he’s 6’6″? That isn’t because he’s on the kings.. he’s battling other guys on the other team for those boards. I’ve never really liked it when people say “Well, he’s on the kings… Well he’s on the warriors.. well he’s on the bucks…” It doesn’t matter what team you’re on because it’s not like he’s playing against the Kings or Warriors or Bucks.. That just means that he’s doing good with a horrible set of players and playing against the better teams in the league and still doing his thing.

What you said seems to be what a lot of people out there think who have not seen him play on a consistent basis. If you watched a couple of the Kings last few games you would see that Tyreke is actually the best distributor the Kings have had in years, which is not say a whole lot considering they have never really had a great distributing PG, but if you watch the games you would see that Evans has great awareness of what is happening around him and especially in the last about ten games, has improved his passing dramatically. His largest problem right now with his passing is that he will set up someone with an open look and they will miss the open shot. I think once people actually get to start watching him play next year and even a little from now until April, they will see a different Tyreke than they expected.

P.S. The Kings are not that bad of a team, they are just really young.

Out of the 9 games he has played in March he is averaging about 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists a game, while the Kings (before tonight’s game) had won five out of their last ten games. Things are looking up finally for Sac.

The scariest thing about Tyreke is just how much room he still has to grow, he still needs a consistent jumper and can still get better in almost every aspect of the game, this kid is going to be scary good in a year or two.

Kings frontcourt is weak 2 many points in the paint,

no matter how many points Reke generates I dont think he can win without a good big man

20/5/5 rookie stats = nba superstar lock

a triple double waiting to happen every game, its like lebron (i can’t imagine how good reke after 3 years). lebron can’t shoot outside too on his rookie year, same as wade, westbrook, derrick rose, rondo, kidd and others. it’s easy to fix outside shooting in the nba, but you can’t teach the attacking/penetrating talent of a player.
