rickyD510Participantif u didnt see the game he killed it got to the rack at will and had 19 free throw attempts and hit 16 of them to add to his 32 points 7-15 on shot attempts. Deron Williams got a taste of his own medicine by getting bullied around on D (rekes hesitation move and crossover was crazy). Most of deron’s points and assists were in the fourth were rekes D got a bit sketchy. Also westphal looked like a genius for having a 2 pg thing going on where reke and beno would alternate on who takes it up the court. i think this is a great way for reke to learn the point its a million times better then benching him or making him a full time starter; this also seemed to slow the game down for him and helped in getting him 7ast and only 2 to’s

d-grizzlyParticipanti said it sometime last week, this kid is gonna be an amazing SG in this league.
What i love most about his game is his outstanding driving ability. The kid can get there at will…

sportsjunkyParticipantThe scary thing is with the increase in minutes he’s going to be picking up now, Kevin Martin out for 6+weeks, his confidence is just going to grow. Look at his only year at Memphis ( http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/memphis/tyreke-evans ) , he had some adjusting and growing to do early on, but gradually it started clicking for him, his minutes increased, ppg increased, number of shot obviously increased because of this BUT his field goal percentage actually increased and steadied around 46-47%. The kings have some solid young pieces , casspri, thompson, hawes…I look forward to seeing how he continues to progress the next month and a half as the number 1 option

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI’m tired of people saying that Tyreke can’t play point. Point guard was his primary position in high school (not really saying much, but still), and Memphis REALLY took off after he took over the point guard spot. It’s gonna take some time, but he’ll be able to play point guard consistently in the NBA.

sportsjunkyParticipantIt’s not even the fact he needs to be the “official” point guard, just the man with the ball in his hands predominantly in offensive sets LOL. I.E. dwyane wade, brandon roy, LBJ. etc
When he runs the half court set, good things happen!!!

rtbtParticipantSome of what I predicted for the Kings is already happening early in the season.
1. The Kings will no longer be the league doormat.
2. Beno Udrih is a better PG than most people think. Last year he was injured and playing PG on the worst team in the league. You couldn’t evaluate him fairly under those conditions.
3. The court of opinion is still out on Tyreke Evans as a PG, but most people agree he can become an outstanding SG in the NBA.By the way, what’s going on with Casspi? Just checking box scores, he seems to be doing very well for a rookie. But he never got off the bench last night? It sounds as if Westphal still hasn’t come up with a consistent rotation.

lalailaParticipantagain again and again, I waited till Brandon’s first bad game i KNEW Tyreke will be as good as Jennings was in his first games..offcourse I hope Jennings could stay so good but to say Tyreke isn;t in the talk, and i didn’t understood how Curry was higher in rankings than Reke..I see Flynn in discussion because of his super production in just around 25min but Reke is easily second best Rookie, and until Jennings will avg his 18/4/4 all this month i have Tyreke even higher, he ISN’T better now it just one game, but no matter career start i knew Reke do well. great battle there IF both could stay so good players i see as good competition(might even better) as Rose Mayo last year…
and just imagine Blake is still waiting, this draft is NOTHING like week, those three no matter if about rookie year i see allstars easily, sooner or later

NorthernLights666ParticipantLove to see Reke’ back at the 2 where he belongs, the Kings need to trade K-Mart to at least get some value for him. What trade scenarios do you see happening in trading Kevin Martin?
0- Posted on: Sun, 11/08/2009 - 6:25am #227749
sportsjunkyParticipantI don’t know if you would maximize the value for him right now, he can definitely score the basketball, but the past two seasons and starting off this season he has missed 25+ games. And he is on the hook for almost 10 mil per season!!!!! The summer of LeBron/Dwade/Cbosh is at hand and nobody is going to look to add a 10 mil injury prone shooter right now.

lalailaParticipantI think Charlotte would be good fit..they could give Diaw to play starting SF and another player, and they would draft one of a lot of good pfs in next years’ draft
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/08/2009 - 7:07am #227759

ChosenOneParticipantthey need to trade kevin martin because tyreke is the future and he needs to be the shooting guard because he is a special scorer.

sportsjunkyParticipantI am not saying that you shouldn’t trade him. I am just saying that there aren’t that many teams looking for an injury prone 2 guard who is paid 10 million a year who is not very athletic. I give him credit, the past three years he has gone to the line more and more, but I also believe that directly correlates to his injury problems! (lets face it, he is a volume jump shooter) The salary cap number has been dropping, fewer teams want to pay a luxury tax, and the one’s who are buying would much rather have joe johnson, dwade, etc.

SvidzaParticipantFor most of the game Udrih played sg, Evans played pg.

quincey hodgesi wont go as far as saying they wont be the leauge doormat after how many game now?..how oftgen do we see a teams star get hurt ..the team plays well for a quick min then start losing every other game damn near..happens in every sport..the team plays with fire and emotion and win then reality starts to set in later..wit rookies they have ups and downs so it doesnt suprise me that evans played good this game..the key is consistency ..and as a pg curry is playing better with better assists number and better assist to turner ration and less turnovers by double….evans is scoring more but was there ever really any doubt?..and before this past game he was only scoring 3 more ppg then curry..i know scoinr is goo dbut some people on here seem to judge a better pg by whos scoring more when theres alot more too it then scoring as a pg..actually thats less improtant then the assists and turnover ratio
0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/08/2009 - 3:11pm #227684
RUDEBOYThey should move him to shooting guard..He’ll be more value to that team if was playing at the 2…He reminds me a lot of former Kings player Reggie Theus…Reggie could play both spots..Evans Having to create for himself & his team mates might be a load right now..I just pray he’ll be more defensive minded than Pretty Boy Theus…But Reggie could ball

quincey hodgeshe is looking alot better tonight as the sg instead of the pg…scoring very well and getting the boards while uldirch is running the one

rtbtParticipantSome of what I predicted for the Kings is already happening early in the season.
1. The Kings will no longer be the league doormat.
Hmmmmmmmmm, it’s early but they’re almost at 500 so far.
2. Beno Udrih is a better PG than most people think. Last year he was injured and playing PG on the worst team in the league. You couldn’t evaluate him fairly under those conditions.
Udrih had 20 points and 6 assists tonight.
I repeat what I’ve said before. Being a PG on the worst team in the league last year was not an enviable position because he had no one to set up. In addition, Udrih was injured most of the year.
3. The court of opinion is still out on Tyreke Evans as a PG, but most people agree he can become an outstanding SG in the NBA.
By the way, what’s going on with Casspi? Just checking box scores, he seems to be doing very well for a rookie. But he never got off the bench last night?
Tonight he played 36 minutes, had 10 rebounds and 12 points. I wonder why he didn’t play last night.

quincey hodgesits still out on everything you just mentioned…..ill have to see beno continue to perform well before i say hes a better then decent nba pg..although i agree now that there are worst teams then sac town

lalailaParticipant16/4/4/1.5 something like this after two very good games, and around 20 left before Martin back
