1 of my favorite players.i dont see him starting full time.he has too many limitations for that.he’s only 6’3 ,undersize for today’s sg, he’s not a true playmaker and sometimes have trouble on the defensive end.but he’s a great competitor & a good very athlete.

i think he’s in the perfect role right now as a sparkplug off the bench.playing alongside wade and dragic gives him the chance to play off the ball and advantage of his outstanding shooting ability and ability to get to the rim.

Air Johnson won’t be a starter. He doesn’t have the handle or the size to play the NBA 2 Guard. His ball skills also need word but he will be a good rotation player for years to come.

Sure he can start.  He defends his position well and he can shoot.  If a player has those 2 attributes, he can start on a good team.  He also happens to be a high IQ player who plays hard as well, so those are 2 more reasons he could start on a winning team.  For him to start at the point though it would have to be the right situation.  Like for example a team that runs a ton of continuity and doesn’t rely on high usage from the point postion.  A team that runs the triangle would be a good example.  A multiple ball-handler system would work for him too like what the Jazz run. If he’s flanked by a wing that can handle a lot of the playmaking he’ll be fine.

As for Tyler’s game, he kinda reminds me of Delonte West before he went batsht and off his meds.  He doesn’t have a whole lot of wiggle or creativity in terms of playmaking but he’s heady, solid across all phases, will move the ball around, hit open shots, defend, drive in straight lines and play with grit.  Delonte had a bit more length but he’s not as springy as Tyler.
