jmarg25ParticipantI like the decision. He is definitely ready to go pro. I would expect at least a lottery pick even in this strong draft. I wouldn’t predict top 10 though.

dcaseParticipantAs a huge fan of the Cuse this news is very disappointing. This is the one player they could not lose. He will likley go late in the lottery, but could have went even higher next year.

livinlegend4blkParticipantI like him as a college player but NBA I don’t think he is going to be that good he reminds me of Cory Joseph from the spurs

machu46ParticipantGood for him. Can’t imagine his draft stock would ever get higher than it is this year. If he had returned and given scouts more time to pick him apart, I think he’d fall to the end of the 1st round to be honest.
Love what he did for us in his one year here, but I don’t really see him being a productive starter in the NBA. I think he’ll end up being a solid backup.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIt’s a DEEP draft, but at the top 1-5 or 1-10. 10 through 25 is kind of random with a lot of really good players mixed in. There also aren’t too many point guards, so this should help Tyler Ennis although the league is already loaded with point guards.
If Detroit is at 8 then I think they should look at getting a point guard. They have the bigs and they have KCP on the wing. If Tyler Ennis does a fantastic job in his workouts, the Pistons should consider him.
If not, yeah, he could fall to the Hawks at 18.
But, I guess the league will be loaded with point guards next year, although the draft might not be as deep.
Is it worth moving up from the 15-20 range this year to the 5-10 range next year? I am not sure it is.

Ghost01ParticipantDon’t really think he’s that great.
He was a solid college player, but really has no great NBA level skills. Also wasn’t very good the last month of the season.
But I have no problem with decision, get paid!

OhCanada-ParticipantI like the Cory Joseph comparison while adding Cory Joseph is a good player. He plays all around basketball and effects the game many ways. Joseph is just stuck behind one of the all-time greats in his prime Tony Parker. I dont think Ennis will ever be an allstar or lead the league in any stats but other than not having elite athletidism his game has no glaring holes and he can be a dolid starting PG at a good price for a team going forward. Similar to Lowry, Billups, Miller type guys; good players and leaders who compete with stars and can be held at a good price

cuseflynn10ParticipantEnnis has the skill, poise, and intangibles to compete in any offense at any level. But Im not sure he has the athleticism to keep up with the top NBA guards just yet. He definitely will develop in that department, but an extra year in college would have helped add that athleticism, refine his skills, and raise his draft stock. He’s likely a 7-14 range pick. A team picking in that range could be looking for a big contribution right out of the gate, but Im not sure if his game will translate right away.

benny15Participantin my personall mock, i had him going as high as 7 to the kings if i were to believe the managements true intentions of searching for a pass first traditional point guard. i believe his maturity and steady play would be a good combination to mix with gay and cousins.
i also had him going as low as the bulls at 16. with derick rose’ knees as well as kirk and dj entering free agency, the bulls arent completely certain with their pg rotation. ennis offers a good combo of either being the third young PG that could be developed or a spot starter due to his maturity on the court.
other places i think he can land would be with denver’s 10th pick in case they want additional PG’s with what they went through this season or with orlando’s 12th pick since they dont have a natural point guard on the roster past this season.

MkadozaParticipantI dont see Ennis having trouble translating due to his athleticism. His IQ and poise will guarantee his future growth and prowess early in his NBA career. I think his greatest concern is his conditioning, as his play clearly tailed of as the season wore on, most notably his jump shot. He’ll be able to create for other with hesitations, his excellent ball handling and passing skills. Defense will always be a question mark, though I like his one on one principles (no so much how he attacks screens). Consistency on his jump shot and conditioning will be what determines how good of a pro he’ll be.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe NBA draft is all about potential and team needs. Ennis doesn’t have a ton of potential and there may not be a need for a PG with limited athletic ability, I think when it all goes down Tyler gets taken in the 15 to 20 range. If a team like the Kings or Lakers wanted him after the big names are off the board, they’d trade back to select him in that range and add another asset in the trade. Where ever he’s taken I believe he has a chance to be better than Dante Exum who could be taken top 5 simply because of his "athletism and potential".
