PG – Rubio, Dunn, Jones, LaVine

SG – LaVine, Dunn, Rush, Shabazz

    SF – Wiggins, Shabazz, Rush

    PF – Dieng, Hill, Payne

C – Towns, Pekovic, Aldrich, Hill

    Head Coach – Tom Thibodeau

Under the radar Veteran FA signings and a Top 5 pick to a great up and coming roster…..After watching Summer League I just saw IT what I didn’t see before…Dunn has STAR potential…just wow..Love both he Aldrich and Hill signings and a veteran sniper in Brandon Rush is a plus….I think a small ball lineup of Rubio, Dunn, LaVine, Wiggins, and KAT can run with some teams for short stretches and they can go big whenever needed to be and have multiple versatile players…if the whole team can improve on the shooting % then they could be a 7/8 seed….id love to see it….Thibodeau has he defends on lockdown so you know you will see a significant improvement there, it’s all on the shooting and continued development of their young pups

There’s a lot of optimism around the club and for good reason.

I don’t know if playoffs should be expected, but I think there is a reasonable chance they get into that mix if they can avoid the big unexpected injury.

So far Rubio is the only main piece that has suffered big injuries before so we’ll see.

I would put them on something like 40 wins for an expectation. 11 more wins than last year would be a sizable jump. I think 42-47 is doable but a lot would have to go right. That puts them in that 7-10 range in the West probably.

Jordan Hill is potentially a terrific pickup. Hard nosed defender/rebounder that fits what Thibs will do defensively. I think he gets a lot of PT at PF and C. I can’t imagine Pek gets a lot of time.

Jordan Hill isn’t that good lol. Sets weak screens. Slow reaction time to rebounds, loose balls, etc. Frustrating player

It will be very interesting to see what happens with Lavine and Dunn – both a combo guards with a knack for scoring.

I think Lavine is worth investing PT in but it will depend on what Thibs sees in him.

Zach is rumoured to be a gym rat so that might put him on Thibs’ good side.

If they run the smallball – almost a Nellieball line up then it would be fun to watch and they could look to play at a fast pace to unsettle the opposition’s rhythm. But I think Thibs would only do that if he is chasing a game, he’ll want a team to be defensively solid and not an 8 second D’Antoni offence trying to outscore the opposition and not playing a lot of defence.

Also with young players if they play too quick run and gun then they may take bad shots and a D’Antoni offence being run by a peak Steve Nash is a bit different to the current T-Wolves line up.

However with so many good ball handlers and KAT to be a menance in the paint, the guys will get lots of good shooting oppportunities. Also if teams go defensive against them and look for a 85-80 type win then Thibs can revert to his defensive game plans and get his guys to play tighter.

The T-Wolves went from 16 wins to 29 last season, I think they will be nearer 40 wins than 30 this season, they could even get close to .500 and sneak a play off spot. Even if they got swept by GSW or Spurs a play off experience would be great learning curve for the roster and if they won a game or two it would be huge for them. KG can continue to be a mentor to the guys whilst Thibs and co train them.

Having KG as almost a go between who can offer advice to both parties, giving the players sound advice discussing things with Thibs will be useful too. If Thibs has roasted the guys and they feel annoyed, KG can say a few words to them about how he’d handle situations and if he thought Thibs was being a bit too harsh, maybe just mention it to him if he felt a player wasn’t responding well. KG can get the team to buy into Thibs mentality and be the locker room leader almost none playing captain.
