I never watched a Denver Nuggetts game this year,. But, I just got through watching highlights of Denver Nuggetts second round pick in the Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins draft, Nikola Jokic. This guy is a beast on the offensive side of the basketball. I heard huis name before the 2014 NBA DRAFT, but didn’t know he will have this kind of rookie season. If you look at his basic stats you wouldn’t be impressed, but he posted some ome of the best advanced offensive numbers in the league. I started looking at his game highlights and he can do it all. He can post the ball up, he’s one of the most impressive passers for a big in the league, can shoot the ball, and can handle the ball for a big man. Denver have a great young duo to build upon

The other player is Khris Middleton. I know he is well known, but I still believe he don’t get the recognition as he deserves. I believe if he was with the Knicks, Bulkls, Lakers, or the Heat he would be recognized as a top 5 shooting guard in this league. I saw a discussion the other day that had a debated focusing on Khris Middleton vs Gordon Hayward, majority of the people believe that Hayward was the better player, but I believe Khris is a much better player than Hayward. He’s a very good shooter for a guy that’s 6’8", is a pretty underrated player, can really score the ball, and plays outstanding defense. The Bucks know his value, that’s why he’s untouchable in trade talks.

If you look at basketball reference and sort through the 2014 draft Jokic has some of the best advanced stats of that whole class. He’s arguably the 2nd best player in that class when you look at PER/Win Shares/VORP. I’m not saying he is the 1st/2nd best player in that class but I’m trying to say he’s is a very very good basketball player.

Derrick Favors is my favorite underrated.  I believe he impacts the game on more levels than a guy like Griffin because he can defend 1-5.  He has become an underated passer and post scorer.  His mid-range game is coming along, and he is top 5 in the leage roling to the basket on pick and role.  Really no weaknesses besides his back. (Hoping he can add a corner three to his game in the next year or two.)

I mean he can switch out on any position much like Tristan Thompson did in the finals, and that he can do at a high level.

I watch a lot of Charlotte games and Nic Batum does it all. He acts as a primary ball handler when Kemba is running off screens or off the floor and facilitates it nicely for a 6"8 guy. He plays and can guard 1-4, rebounds at a high rate and plays pretty much the whole game. He fits in well with Charlotte and im curious to see what offers he gets this offseason and where he ends up. He really is a great fit for any team and what he brings to the table night in and out to me stands out and is under appreciated IMO

Thad Young is underrated, mostly because he is on a crappy team. I kinda compare him to Iguodala in that nobody appreciated him when he was on a bad team. Once he went to a good team people realized how good he was.

I feel the same for Young if he gets traded to a good team.

Jokic might be underated if you don’t have league pass…

too me the most underated are J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert  Thier defense on the Warriors and every other guard tandem in the league was stellar all season.  and NY never got anything out of either of them that was half as good as they have been in Cleveland.

There are alot of other young prospects like Jokic who are still fairly unknown but I don’t think they or he is really underated; just not well known yet. Until you win something it really does’nt matter how special you are.

Kyrie Irving has been doing the same stuff since he came into the league, yet no respect as being a top guard until now.

I’d go Middleton. He’s a stud and Giannis/Jabari get a lot of the attention.
