negguaryParticipantRich Paul meeting with the team, they are still intent on trading for Klaw without giving up fultz embeast or Simmons. Probably would be offering 2021 unprostected, cov saric and they may throw in something else. A few things this lets me know that if true they know Markelle has it, it also almost assures LeBron a team that makes him the favorites against the warriors for this would be a team that gives them matchup nightmares.
Ben
Klaw
Bron
Bolden
Embeast
With kelle off he bench with Holmes furkan with shooting smith for defense if not traded!
Just being in his predicament is major for me! I’ve been down!

whiteflashParticipantIf trading Fultz nets you Leonard, you do it without even thinking about it.

negguaryParticipantPeriod! Without an extension from a newly unexpected wild card guy like Klaw who is bent on signing with lakers I’m not giving up on a one month 20 year old who I believe will be an all star period. If Klaw bolts and bron bolts you still have a solid young big three! And I skin t care about negs hence my name! I’m not giving up that much for a player that took away all your leverage, they have none! Shoot giving up saric and unprotected and cov with additional Pieces is a lot.

celtics1982ParticipantIf you trade Fultz, Saric, Smith, Covington, and that 2021 Heat pick you’ve gutted the team of assets. At the same time you almost need to trade that, maybe take out Saric or Smith. Fultz value is so low, at the sametime its crazy to trade an asset like that at his lowest value.
They really need to sign a free agent.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantSimmons/McConnell/Milton
Bridges/TLC/Kormaz
Taytum/Covington(6th man of the year?)
Saric/Bolden/Noel
Embiid/Okafor/Holmes
…And possibly add Lebron and/or Kawhi to that???

The GoatParticipantSaric, Cov, Zhaire Smith and Miami’s unprotected 1st in 2021 is a major offer for a one year rental of Kawhi. If I was Pop id rather take this offer than anything the Lakers offered.
As the Sixers, id actually keep Smith and offer Luwawu- Carrobot instead.

EndlessknightParticipantNot sure why the OP is getting negged, multiple credible members of both the Philly and national press is reporting this.
Personally I’m not as big on Kawhi as most. Sure he’s been great in the past but who knows what kind of player he is after missing so much time. Add to that his impending free agency and stated desire to live in LA and I not sure if I’m giving up Dario or Fultz.
I know most of you will laugh and say Covington, TLC, Korkmaz and draft picks aren’t enough but seriously how much are you giving up for an injured rental?

whiteflashParticipantI actually agree with you. Part of me has always wondered how much of Leonard’s success is a product of the Spurs system. Having said that, my initial post was meant under the conditions that Philly doesn’t gut themselves and Leonard commits for at least a few years. There’s literally no scenario where I don’t trade a busted Fultz and change for a possibly busted Leonard.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI am not a huge fan of either team so this is a sort of unbiased opinion.
The two potential offers Spurs could get:
Lakers: Ingram,Kuzma ,A pick(top 5 protected if lebron bails) Sign and trade Randle.
vs
76ers:
Robert C-who is on a pretty big contract,Dario S, and probably multiple picks(top 3 protected). I hate to say this but this is where the Okafor trade kind of hurts them a little as they could have sold them on him also-With Timmy mentoring him he may look better. If I am looking at either deal as potential and cost of players.
$ Wise 76ers hits your Cap more right away vs Lakers
Potential wise Kuzma and Ingram have a higher ceiling than Saric and Covington.
However the Variable is how sold you are on Randle-Would he fit with the Spurs?
If the spurs want a more veteran based team and ready to go right now sort of move the 76ers move will be better right now as Ingram and Kuzma may take a little more time before they legit start hitting their ceiling. Or if the would prefer moving Kawhi out East vs West they will look more at the 76ers move than Lakers.
But if they want the Lakers deal and want to do a semi rebuild/hit reset they could trade LMA and most vets to contenders for young cheaper deals or shorter term deals.
Personally if I was Pop/The Spurs and if Kawhi has legit said I want out then trade him while the Value is up vs getting a Pelicans for Cousins for Buddy hield and an average pick sort of deal.

EndlessknightParticipantCov averages j12M a year, only 10.5 next year, how is that a big contract? I would rather the team miss out on both LeBron and Kawhi, and save the cap space for next year, then make a bad trade.

cohenbc1ParticipantBringing back Rudy Gay and Belinelli, of all people, doesn’t seem like something you do if you’re about to trade your star for multiple young players. It seems more like an effort to surround Kawhi with complimentary players and try to get off to a good start next season and convince him to stay.
UNLESS they signed Gay and Belinelli to be chips in a future Kawhi trade. Both contracts are pretty team-friendly. But in that case they can’t make the trade for … is it 30 days? 90?
