Could Trae and Dejounte be the first teammates to ever average double digit assists per game for a season? I know we’re only two games in but they are both doing it thru two! They have both proven to be exceptional passers–both are proficient in P&R, and both are dangerous enough off the dribble to attract help and find open shooters. It seems like they both are get their fair share of being the primary ball handler too. Given that, with how fast the game is and how many possessions per game there are these days is this feasible? If so that would be pretty remarkable.

The days of a dominant ball handling creative PG are evolving into more scoring PGs and backcourts. Only CP£ and Harden averaged over 10 APG last season but Trae and Dejounte were next on the list with over 9 APG. so they were getting close to double digits.

But if they play together they will take numbers off each other and being the teams two main scorers will they be passing to each other a lot, if they had a high scoring 20ppg plus guy in the frontcourt then there would be more scoring options. Also we’d need to consider will Nate keep at least one of them on court across the whole game oand there will be blow out wins and losses where both will be pulled and rested.

A team may average about 25 APG per game so getting 20 between two players would be very hard across a full season so maybe 18 combined would be nearer but lets see how it goes and its a fun idea to follow.
