Questionable attitude, injury prone, overweight, off court probs with porn stars

The Pelicans don’t need him, trade him while he is healthy.

I agree with the sentiment, was wondering if you had a good package in mind??? What would it look like to get a Zion return package? I think doing that you might have to rip apart an already good team unless you get a dawg in return. Maybe a Dejounte Murray package??? Idk just thinking out loud, but I guess it wouldn’t be a bad idea. I think maybe a Zion/C.Zeller/D.Daniels for D. Murray/D.Hunter/Bufkin or something might work. Lets say you?

There are teams with loads of picks due like Utah and Spurs but neither Ainge or Pops are going to give up too much in a trade. Spurs have Wemby to build around and Utah are developing nicely. The Thunder are already contending and have assets so could they do something not including SGA or Chet?

The Knicks have made the recent trade for OG but have picks still due and are a big market team. They are also the sort of team that NOP could rinse for a very high price. Another team that sprang to mind is Brooklyn they have all the picks due in the KD trade and apart from Mikal Bridges I’d say no players would be off limits.

However I’d be reluctant to trade away a player of Zion’s ability even if his durability is an issue. NOP aren’t a big market team and have been trying to get back into the play offs since they traded AD. So having to start over or risk trying to get a similar level player in is hard. Brandon Ingram will be a FA in 2025 so if Zion is moved then surely he’d be on the trade block as he’d want to be on a contending team when he signs his next deal I’d feel.

Private life stuff like his isn’t a needle mover. It isn’t a secret, however, that Zion has diet and weight issues. I think I have mentioned this before, but the fact that he is such a great athlete is part of the problem with his weight. He seems to connote being able to get up and do athletic things very few people can do, even among his teammates, as being in-shape. Clearly, New Orleans has not been able to get through to him. Even when someone with as big a microphone as Charles Barkley points out that the way you know you are carrying too much weight is you can’t stay on the floor, it doesn’t seem to sink in. I don’t know how many GMs have enough leeway and have enough assets to both be able to take the risk and satisfy New Orleans to make it worthwhile for both sides. San Antonio might be one. They have an excess of picks starting in 2025, a mix of young players who aren’t working well around Victor (my guess is Vassell is the only one they wouldn’t mind seeing other teams inquire about). and contracts in Doug McDermott’s expiring and Devonte Graham’s partial guarantee for next season to alleviate New Orleans’ future tax issues. Then again, they have been very conservative in their decisions so far.

On a side note, that Lakers/Warriors game was fantastic tonight!

The Spurs are clearly trying to find the right mix of players around Wemby and with him there they don’t need to do anything risky. In the last few games they seem to be starting to win a bit more so is Pops finding the right formula.

New Orleans was the worst possible place for him to get drafted too. Basically one of the food/party capitals of the world. Memphis would have been bad too but I wonder how this would have all played out if he went to NY.

Zion in LA, NY, Miami would be interesting. Maybe he needs somewhere without the vibrant nightlife ideally.
