Seems like a great trade for both teams, GS small back court will get a major upgrade & Monta can shine in Philly. So whatca think?

i feel Philly should get some more incentive, maybe Monta Ellis+Ekpe Udoh for Andre Iguodala+Lou Williams

I know htere are lots of Monta fans on this site, but I don’t think he is that highly regarded by league GMs. The knock that while he is lightning quick and can score that he really doesn’t do it in a way that is that effective to actually winning NBA games. Iggy, however, could be a perfect fit on a championship contender as a second or third option.

Here’s the link to the a discussion when this rumor first came out.

The trade talks seemed to be coming from GS wanting to trade for Andre, Philly picked up the phone and discussed it that’s about it.  Andre will be moved but I don’t think Monta will be the player they get back especially with the sale of the team.  The trade seems to have died down if not off at this point.

I like the trade a lot for GS… Curry and Iggy is a nice 1/2 combo.

People say it won’t work for the 76ers… But Holiday has the tools to be a great defender. Just needs to add some pounds… But I think Holiday could D up a lot of two’s in the NBA.

He would get posted up and bullied, and he is not tall enough either. two’s are 6ft6 and bigger quite often.

the problem with this trade is it makes evan turner slide to an unnatural position at small forward

Sixers need a scoring punch, but would Monta be starting at the SG? I like the trade for the Warriors.

Monta Ellis? Really? People who watch basketball on a regular basis like his game?

The guys who ran the Nets are in charge in Philadelphia. Jerry West is running the show in Golden State. He’s trading a chucker who does nothing else particularly well for one of the league’s elite intangibles guys.

For the second straight season, the Golden State Warriors were a minus with Ellis on the floor, according to 82Games. The guy is poison to the flow of an offense and his game has nothing to do with winning basketball.

I really feel bad for Sixers fans if this trade goes through. Iguodala is never going to be an elite scorer on the wing, but he’s an above average athlete and scorer, and an elite defender and  passer, and those are hard to find.

Philly management has also dismissed this rumor, the Sixers are not at all looking to trade Iguadola to GS for a 6’3 ball hog, we have our eyes on a C(Kaman and Kanter are the top targets, rumor is LA wants both picks next year, we obviously want of them if we’re trading them Iguadola)…Iguadola may be in LA this next season, The Lakers, Clippers and Kings are all in the mix for Iguadola…

Monta made a huge step last year and became more of a complete player he may not ever be a good defender but he started to pass and reb the ball way better then in years past now iggy is a good defender but he will never be able to takeover games like monta has done in the past plus the bum who said the warrior should give up more is a joke I think the sixes need to throw in young or brackins to get Ellis and stop comparing him to Lou he is so much better then Lou willams will ever be

Iguadola was stepping up in the playoffs, he scored and defended well consider he was matched up on Wade and Lebron the entire series…Monta has no chance of going head to head with those amd that’s who we would face every year in the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed…Monta is very over rated, I love his skills with the basketball but players like him are not successful in the long term championship goal, Iggy can defend Wade and Lebron, Monta can barely guard Mario Chalmers…Sixers say no…Iggy is just better than Monta, team USA and GM’s across the board agree…
