DWadeBIWParticipantAllen, Scal, Giddens for Jamison and Butler. WOW this is good trade for Boston but not really for the Wizards. This trade will make the celtics a better title contender.

cryan03Participantthis might make Boston the team to beat in the East IF they could come together and put their egos to the side….
BUT
this could also blow up in their face with to many big players all wanting the ball and could hurt them0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/12/2010 - 7:43am #255356

NashyMingParticipantThe Wizards basically handed out Jamison and Butler for nothing.
Ray Allen is still good, but he’s expiring and the Wizards pretty much gave up this season already, so they would definitely want some young players and draft picks. The Wizards current state can compare to the Pacers after the brawl or the TrailBlazers with Zach, Miles, Wells. I think the Wizards should focus on character players more so that they can rebuild the reputation. Allen and Scal are just expiring contract and JR Gidden isn’t exactly a character guy. I don’t really see why they would do this if they are not willing to trade with the Rockets for TMac’s contract (they want more than just cap relief).
The only reason that they may do it is probably:
1) the Wizards dislike the Cavs so much that they are willing to make the Celtics stronger without getting much in return
2) Danny Ainge and Grunfeld are really close buddy like what he did in the KG trade. This is really ridiculous.

quinceyhodgesyeah i doubt this is realistic. i can see maybe jamison or butler but jamison and butler?

MuggsyParticipantHeavily lopsided. Wouldn’t work well for either team if it went down, sure C’s get more talent, but someones going to be benched, and they won’t be happy.

quinceyhodgesi dont think jamison would mind. i remeber when he was coming off the bench for dallas when he was alot younger. plus when you get a certain age and can contend for a title its not as important. i think if rasheed can accept it then jamison definatly can accept it. plsu he’d be getting plenty of minutes

MuggsyParticipantMaybe, but he’s hit a bit more stardom since then. Who would be SG? Pierce or Butler?

quinceyhodgestrue but players at his age tend to not complain when they are going to a title team. thats what young players do because they dont look at the big picture which is a ring. well other then iverson

WizardofOzParticipantI’m a Wizards fan, and believe it or not, I like this trade. Before ya’ll start gettin freaked out, let me explain why it is good 4 both. It’s great for the Celtics because they want to win a title now and they could be considered championship contenders by getting 2 all-star caliber players in Butler and Jamison. This trade would be good 4 da Wizards because even though they can technically still make the playoffs because how weak the bottom of the East is, there season is likely done and they can start there rebuilding process by salary dumping and be in contention for a superstar free agent this off-season because we get 2 expiring contracts in return and we could release those 2 players and have a lot of salary space.

quinceyhodgeseven thought the trade is unrealistic ill continue to entertain it. as a wizard fan im not sure why you think itys a good trade when the wiz could clearly get better younger talent as well as draft picks if they want to rebuild. i can see if this was there last option but there are plenty of teams that like butler and jamison. they can get a lotto pick easily for butler and a nice younger good player for jamison. cap space plus talent
