TRC1991ParticipantThe knicks would literally be downgrading without any purpose

McWinningParticipantlol i was gonna add a pick to it probably and the reasoning is they add Thomasa’s expiring contract add Rodriguez who they have pursued before hes dominated with New York and they lose Jeffries contract, and add his replacement Greene whos another defensive stopper and has a nice three point shot and could be about as good as Gallo in New York with more shots (not quite) and a lot of potential plus he has one year left on his contract after this and makes less than a million. i kindve threw that together quickly i probably shouldve given my reasoning but i was in a rush.

the I in winParticipantmaybe if they also take curry and give this years unprotected 1st rounder New York would do it.

McWinningParticipantlol you guys do slightly overrate Gallo hes a good three point shooter but hes not top 20 in 3 point percentage ands hes still not that good of a slasher or defender Donte Greene is almost up there hes a great defender and is very talented offensively. Plus Dantoni tryed to get Sergio from the Blazers last year but he couldnt quite he knows hes very similiar to Steve Nash and if given more time would be a premeir passer and a good scorer too and hes actually a pretty good defender.

skingzParticipantheck i don’t think the kings would do that deal. their not ready to get rid of the young core and my opinion is donte has more potential than gallinari.

the I in winParticipantdonte might have more potential but he has no comitment to getting better. his philosophy is why drive when i can take a fader three.

knicksfan7ParticipantYes my account says I am a knicks fan. But Gallo is only 20 years old. His body needs to fill out, and he is still a year or 2 away from averaging 20 a game. I agree Gallo has been a little bit overrated on this site. I don’t think he has realized his full potential yet, he is such a mismatch where he should be driving to the basket more to draw fouls. He is 6-10 where no guard shorter than 6 foot 6 can guard him and power forwards won’t guard him b/c they simply can’t guard the perimeter. In a perfect world Danilo Gallinari takes about 12 shots a game, 6 3’s, and gets to the line 6-8 times. Say he makes 3 2’s,3 3’s, and 6 foul shots that is 21 points right there. I think he is going to be a great #2 option who makes all-star appearances, but not a franchise player like Dirk Nowitzki. I think I am being realistic.

tli232The kid just isn’t as good as some people think. I mean, I think Dante Greene Has JUST AS MUCH POTENTIAL AS GALLINARI, minus playmaking. By getting rid of jeffries’ contract, they’re getting another starter Quality player in the off season.
Good trade for Both sides, IMO

knicksfan7ParticipantHave you seen some1 shoot a ball as well as him at age 20??? Also, Gallo shows intensity and goes the beyond what is asked of him, Donte Green I have yet to see that.

McWinningParticipanthave you even seen the Kings play? it seems like Gallo is content to shoot three like Donte too and Donte has a pretty good stroke. Also hes a defensive stopper. And anyways it wasn’t that swap that i was saying would make the trade. Its adding Sergio who IF YOU DO WATCH KINGS GAMES you’ll see they play better with him in not sure why he doesn’t play more hes definitely a top 5 passer in the league just Sacramento doesn’t play him much he would be a beast in New York at 17.7 he actually has a better per than Gallos 16.0 and yet you never talk about him being a factor. , and getting rid of Jeffries contract is huge. Plus Greene makes about 2 and a half mil less than Gallo and hes not that far off from him.
