KHAM83ParticipantThis isn’t so much a trade idea, but more a trade prediction based on rumors.
Kings offering up their pick and have been taking to Hawks regarding #8 pick.
Last year the Kings loved Schroeder, so journalists suggest they are trying to get him now. I disagree, since the Kings want a young vet. If they wanted a project, Smart is the better choice, and Payton a decent choice regarding their roster makeup. I think the Kings are after Teague, and as a Hawks fan, I will be happy if we sold him high. He performed his absolute best this post postseason, I don’t see him replicating it next. I think the 7th pick in this draft is worth much more than Teague.
Rockets need to shed Lin and Asik contracts, to make run at LeBron, Mello, Bosh. They need not take back any salary and have deal(s) lined up to achieve this.
Here I have the Hawks offering up a future pick to take Lin, who can replace Teague for the year while Schroeder evolves into a starting pg. The Hawks were rumored to be interested in him this past season.
On another note, I think it’s Cleveland who’s offering to take Asik for a future pick.

jonus grumbyParticipantWhy would a team trade anything for Asik or Lin. They have terrible contracts for this year so unless you think you are going to win big not just move up a couple spots why would you take those contracts. Teams that are close to winning it all don’t have cap room to take them on. Cleveland??? Why. They are not going to win with Asik so why do the trade. Why would another team bail Houston out. Make them live with the contracts they offered.

BA30ParticipantIf Houston is still sticking to the "we want a pick for Asik" mentality than there isn’t a team in the league that would do it. I could see the Cavs taking him on for a season if a protected 1st round pick comes with him. This would be very similar to the LAC Baron Davis trade to the Cavs that netted them Kyrie. I believe Houston still has their pick next year and it is likely to be a late first rounder if they improve their team.
