I can see on almost every idea that you have, then you have afflalo and calderon on there… heres the thing. New York would probably do it in a heartbeat, but the other team will not give one of their best players away to get two or three scrubs. If i was the bulls, then i would never trade away Derrik Rose. not today, not tommorowm not ever. You just  have to decide what the other team needs, and what your willing to give in order to get. if that makes sense

Derrick Rose stinks. I would never want the Knicks to take on his awful contract and then have to actually give away anything of value. The guy’s PER is 11.77. The league average is 15.0. He makes 20 mil this year and 21 mil next year. Not to mention he’s constantly injured. The Bulls would need to throw in first round picks up the wazoo for any team to take him on his current contract.

    1. I am guessing the Knicks would have to add a sweetner (ie some draft pick or picks) to pull this deal off. For a rental player, it is not worth it.

    2. I wouldn’t touch Rose due to his contract.

    3. If I am the Knicks, I am not absorbing Meeks contract to rent Jennings

    4. This I find the most intriguing. Lawson has been bad this year, but might benefit from a change of scenery. Calderon also might be a good fit in Houston. The Knicks might need to kick in a small sweetner (like giving Houston its 2017 second round pick back), but this one could work.

I would take Jose Calderon, Derrick Williams, Lance Thomas, a future first rounder, and a future second rounder for Mike Conley and Vince Carter.

The most realistic options IMO the Knicks have are Teague, Lawson and Jennings. Now what would the Knicks have to give up to obtain one of those guys is anyones guess. I havent taken to time to try and match up salaries and look at what the Knicks would have to offer in regards to assets. But I think any one of those three could help this current Knicks Squad. Mike conley would be a good option, but there not trading for him and he will most likley re sign with memphis in the summer anyways.

Im really impressed with what the Knicks have been able to do this year, one of the missing peices is a legit PG no offence Calderon but someone who can set yp the offence and score, but again with those three listen scoring guards do they fit the Triangle???

    thoughts??

As a Hawks’ fan, your trade for Teague, Thabo and THJ would be terrible on our side.

    1. We aren’t taking back two PG’s in any deal for Teague.  Not when Dennis is pushing for more playing time.

    2. You basically take two of our wings and only send back one.  That is the Hawks’ biggest need outside of a true center, so that definitely wouldn’t happen.

    3. D-Will and Millsap play the same position essentially so what would he bring to the table?  We already have Mike Scott in that backup role and I really don’t see the difference between the two all things considered.

Our only asset we receive in return would be Grant, which I like, but we would need more than that in return for Teague.  I doubt the Hawks do any deal with the Knicks that doesn’t involve either Afflalo or Lopez.  And for that reason, I don’t think any sort of deal gets done because those two players are key for this Knicks turn around.

I don’t what sort of value thabo and thjr holds but i’ve just included them to make the money work anw the point here are not what the hawks needs it’s what sort of talent upgrade they would get calderon perfect backup for dennis gallo very efficient 6th man and could be a starter derrick williams a good backup for milsap + upside sorry but he’s better than mike scott and finally grant young talent with upside and very cap friendly contract ! So basically you’re trading 1.5 to 3.5 (talent wise) and of course the knicks could throw a 1rst pick which i think could get the deal done

Just trust me when I tell you, you are wrong about what the Hawks would be giving up/getting in the deal.

"the point here are not what the hawks needs"

Asid from the gramatical error, that’s exactly what the point is.  The Hawks are a contending team, not rebuilding so we wouldn’t make a trade unless it fit a need.

Calderon means nothing for the Hawks when you give us Grant.  The Hawks would want Grant to develop behind Dennis, not pay Jose another $8M next year to be the third PG.

Thabo and THJ are more valuable than Galloway and that’s not even a question.  And the Hawks aren’t giving up two wings for one when the two they are giving up are more valuable.  Not to mention wing is a position of need for the Hawks with Korver’s struggles.

And agree to disagree that Williams is better than Scott.  On potential, yes, but not what they currently bring to the table in the terms of this deal.  Williams has never lived up to that potential and Scott is the perfect fit on this team.

It would make the Hawks less of a contender this season and next.

Sorry for the gramatical error i’m half asleep as i’m writing right now so give me a break it’s a blog not a dictation test !

Back to the topic i see that you value the hawks too much !

First of all it’s not the knicks are diying to have teague it’s the hawks who placed him on the block so don’t expect to get a big reward (golden rule when you put something for sale buyers will always buy low) so if the hawks are desperate to trade teague they would go for the best package of talent and picks and can put their needs onhold for the moment .

Which brings me to my second point please if you can propose a realistic trade for teague with any team (of course in need for a pg) in the league so i can get a sort of idea what value do you hold for teague.

A less complex version of the first trade proposed in this thread would be Teague to NY for Jerian Grant and Derrick Williams (or Kyle O’Quinn, whoever you prefer) along with the Knicks 2018 1st round pick (that is the soonest tradeable pick they have). This trade allows Teague to be the lead guard for the Knicks on an affordable (especially with the new cap) $8 mil per season while the Hawks acquire Grant to backup the new starting PG Schroeder, a rotation big man in either Williams or O’Quinn and a future 1st round pick.

Agree but i don’t think the knicks will trade 3 players + a 1rst pick for teague you can add calderon and the hawks will throw thabo plus tim it wouldn’t affect trade it’s just salary matching so basically you swapped gallo with OQ wich i thought about but i went with a player that holds more value which in this case is gallo .

In my humble opinion a future 1rst will get the trade done either way

I think it greatly affects the trade. The Hawks would much prefer to keep Thabo, one of their best wing defenders rather than trade for a defensive liability in Calderon.

besides porzingas and anthony, who do the knicks have to trade that will get them an upgrade at pg?

    I don’t see it happening.

they need to try to get a 1st round pick from a mid lottery team ,becuase they have few assets and are not getting past toronto, the cavs ,the bulls or the heat in a 7 game series even if they make the post season not this year or next.
