TONYDABOSS77ParticipantI’ve seen a lot of ppl talk about what teams would do in trades with picks or trying to acquire a star & here are some options.
Bulls trade D.Rose to Nets for Jarrett Jack.
-Why not if you’re tha Nets? You have no picks. You have a lot of cap room, but you’re not getting anyone with it unless you overpay. You have to take a risk. If D.Rose can’t show anything, fine…his deal expires after next season. If he does, you now have your star player & can look to building your roster. It allows tha Bulls to start rebuilding now & wipe their hands with Rose while getting a nice player in return.
Celtics trade IT, Jerebko, Smart, ET, James Young to Knicks for Melo.
–Thats probably tha best deal tha Knicks could get for Melo & it gives them flexibility for tha future & they can accelerate tha process of building around Porzingis. I know that’s a lot of tha C’s core & they may not want to get rid of them, but they’re in tha worst place to be at: tha middle. They’re not good enough to really contend & they’ll probably not be bad enough to get better through tha draft. This is tha time to make a move. It still leaves them with all of their picks & they keep Sullinger, Bradley, Crowder & Olynyk. They could pick Dunn at 3 (which is what I’d do), trade tha pick or pick someone else. This move may also open tha door for them to possibly sign KD.-
Celtics trade Amir Johnson, Marcus Smart, ET, 3, 16, & 23 to Kings for Boogie.
-Tha Kings wouldn’t get a star back from Boogie, but they’d be getting two solid role players, a young 2way combo guard, and a lot of picks. It could help them really build their teams, especially using 3 & 8. I don’t even need to say what getting Boogie would mean for tha C’s. Imagine getting him & being able to sign KD. You’re talking about a potentially crazy line up of IT/Bradley/Crowder/KD/Boogie with a bench of Olynyk, Sullinger, Young, Hunter, etc.
Suns trade 4, 13, Len to Kings for Boogie.
-Kings wouldn’t get a star back, but they’d get a young 2waay big & two lottery picks to go with their 8th pick. Boogie in PHX could shake things up…they already have Knight, Bledsoe, Booker, Chandler, Tucker, Goodwin, Teletovic, etc. Adding Boogie to that would make them contenders in tha West if they all stay healthy.
If Lakers trade 2 to tha Bulls for Butler.
-Tha Bulls could take Ingram & start their rebuild. Tha Lakers would get a top 5 two way player & would improve their chances at signing KD and/or Whiteside or Biyombo.

TONYDABOSS77ParticipantAnother move I thought about was if tha Nuggets traded Faried, Nelson, Arthur, 7, & 19 to Sacramento for Boogie. Tha Kings can rebuild…It gives tha Nuggets tha best C in tha league while hes’s only 25. They’d have Mudiay, Barton, Gary Harris, Chandler, Augustin, Miller, Gallinari…plus Cousins, Nurkic & Jokic, which I think could be tha most talented group of bigs in tha league right now.

Arc12345ParticipantAll of those trades are major reaches. That’s a lot to give up for a star like Melo or Cousins. It would essentially leave the stars in the same situation they are currently in…they’d be sacrificing too much and end up with a star with no supporting cast.
It’s really hard to make those trades work or even hypothesize how they would work.

TONYDABOSS77ParticipantI respect your opinion, but you never said which trades you were talking about…
They’re all reaches? Aren’t these all players & picks that have been in trade rumors for atleast two months now???
So Butler’s not worth 2??
4, 13, and Len is too much for Boogie?
So if C’s can keep Sullinger, Crowder, Bradley, Olynyk & their picks in a trade for Melo, he wouldn’t be in a better situation??? Even with them still having $$ to sign KD?? Even with them still having 3, 16, 23 to deal for Boogie??
So Boogie wouldn’t be in a betters situation in Denver??? A team who’s been rumored to make a move since Feb.
Damn, I guess its crazy that tha Bulls would be looking to deal D-Rose too huh? Even crazier that Nets would take a flier on a former MVP with an expiring contract…
