BogDon_KryptParticipantMagic Get: Omer Asik
Pelicans Get: Tobias Harris
Why this works:
Magic get a redundant player in Asik who is a less good shooting version of Vuvecic.
Pelicans get a Tweener in Harris who could play SF, move Anderson to PF, and Davis at C where he belongs.

SwatLakeCityParticipantWhile I like the idea of Harris playing small forward instead of Tyreke Evans, I don’t like the idea of moving Davis to the Center spot. The Pelicans played Davis at Center both last season and the season before (His rookie season) Throughout those 2 years though the Pelicans wanted to play Davis at PF. That was most of the reason behind getting Asik. That trade allowed them to do this. This is also why many of us posters on this site pleaded for this trade to happen. So no, Davis does not belong at C.
To further prove my point, did you see the MONSTER stat line Davis had in last night’s game? Almost a triple double. 26 points 17 boards (yes you read that right 17 boards) and here’s the real killer 9 blocks. (Yes, 9) I think that stat line pretty much settles any doubt about Davis playing PF instead of C. True it was only 1 game, but he has unlimited potential so I expect more Davis to do more domination of opponents in future games.

DukeDaSquadParticipantIf you see Vucevic as a better shooting Asik, then why would they want a lesser player that is also older?

Meditated StatesParticipantHe has been at times. He is a great 4 and Asik is perfect next to him. I would hold off on that one.

cryan03ParticipantI think Asik the PERFECT fit next to Anthony Davis. I think Davis future in this league is at PF, as he is 2 small at C and I think has been part of the injury problems. Asik is in there to defend, rebound and bang down low.
