ProudGrandpaParticipantUSA is in a group with Argentina (FIBA #3), France (FIBA #12, but we all know they’re gonna be better than that), and Tunisia (FIBA #32).

benjo344 me biggest question is what would usa team look like now that Rose is gone,Howard too..i think USA will win gold easily.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI think Rose’s injury puts Russell Westbrook in. I think we go with three guards with Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Russell Westbrook. Up front we go with Tyson Chandler, Kevin Love, and Blake Griffin with either Chris Bosh or Andre Iguodala. Bosh gives us a player who can play center and he is great in international competition. Iggy is great in international competition too and gives us a great wing defender who can also play the 4.
Since Team USA said that they won’t look at any more guys I think that it is between Bosh and Iggy for the last spot on the team. You can make a case for either guy.
I think they pick Bosh due to his size and scoring ability. Iggy is great on the wing and on defense, but I think that they will play Westbrook some at the 2, and will utilize LeBron as the team’s premier perimeter defender.
Bosh will see heavy minutes at center.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWord is Deron Williams won’t play if he hasn’t signed his next contract before the Olympics start…
IF he doesn’t play, Russell Westbrook (gulp) will be the prime decision maker at point guard behind Chris Paul.

J_01ParticipantHe’s ahead of Blake Griffin due to his ability to hit the jumper. And maybe even ahead of Love due to seniority.
Jerry Colangelo said he’s open to the possibility of adding players due to recent injuries so the roster may change again.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI’d love to see Anthony Davis get a chance to play..They could use his unique defensive skills and ability to block shots at the rim and on the perimeter….
I’m expecting at least 2 to 3 superstar players to decline, becuz of the stress of back to back to back games this season and wanting to rest up for next season….Lamar Odom was a key player on TEAM USA,but with his recent problems i doubt if he’ll be invited…

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"IF he doesn’t play, Russell Westbrook (gulp) will be the prime decision maker at point guard behind Chris Paul."
Not exactly, you also have to remember that LeBron is going to be the 2nd ball-handler on the team. So when CP3 is out, LeBron is going to be the primary ball-handler and passer. Hell, if they’re both out, I wouldn’t doubt that Wade would become the primary ball-handler. I think Coach K is smart enough to put the ball in the hands of CP3, LeBron, and Wade instead of Westbrook’s.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI think Team USA needs to take a look at some guys, if just for the future. Kyrie Irving is a player that Team USA can use in the future, if not on the Olympic team this year. Especially if D-Will doesn’t commit then it would leave Team USA’s options at point guard down to Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook pretty much.
Kyrie Irving can run a team and hit jump shots. He should be a good fit, and would be a perfect understudy to Chris Paul.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI’d rather irving or wall over westbrooke

FastAndFuriousParticipantI have no problem with Westbrook being the back up at all, he played extremley well in the Olympics last time he was playing and until he messes that image up then i’m fine with the BEST PG in the game playing for the USA!

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron James can handle the ball and has great vision, but he isn’t a point guard. He dribble drives and then kicks it out when he doesn’t have a layup. He’s not someone who’s going to run the offense and get players in the right spots. Miami’s half-court offense is not a strength for the team.
I don’t remember him handling the ball that much in the 2008 Olympics. Coach K used him as a finisher. IF Deron Williams doesn’t play, point guard is going to be weak for Team USA because Chris Paul isn’t going to want to play big minutes. Not coming off this shortened season.
