OhCanada-ParticipantTough draw for Toronto. Could be another 7 game series although Toronto has owned them in recent memory. Since the Allstar break Toronto has the best record in the Eastern Conference but Milwaukee has the second best.
Lowry is the most efficient pick and roll player in the NBA and Toronto is lukely the best pick and roll team however due to Milwaukees length and athletisism the Bucks are the best pick and roll defence in the NBA. Weve seen Derozan and Lowry struggle with length in the past and it just so happens they get a team thats matured that is loaded with length.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantCan Bucks keep this up though??

OhCanada-ParticipantOne of my favourite rappers Talib Kweli at the halftime show. Much rather have him support the Raptors than fake ass Drake.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantTough game so far for Middleton. He is struggling to get separation and still looks like he is only around 75 percent right now. Bucks first team when they play maker, antetokoumpo, Middleton, brogdon and Snell together is a nightmare defensively. So much length.

BasterdInABasketParticipantThe Prez.. ROY. The XFactor for a Bucks playoff run.
Derozan is having his way driving gotta clamp down on him though

OhCanada-ParticipantBucks scare the shit out of me. Maker and Brogdon have been x-factors here. Maker is so long and mobile hes got such a bright future but Brogdan is just so poised. Raps with no awnser for Antetekoumpo and Monroe is getting the best of Valanciunas.
Also the Raptors are 1-10 in playoff game 1’s.

BleedGreen808ParticipantThe Bucks were the team I wanted to avoid the most because of their length. Giannis is almost impossible to defend and he doesn’t even have a solid 3pt shot yet. Everytime I watch the Bucks I think to myself Brogdon isn’t a normal rookie. He plays with the poise of an NBA vet.

BasterdInABasketParticipantPretty crazy stat. Only one was in 01 when the Bucks last won a series.

cjwParticipantLowry and derozan are a joke 9-32 combined. The bucks are building a dynasty around giannis and THON

BasterdInABasketParticipantDerozan was invisible fourth quarter but kept them in it by himself til that Bucks run. Might be rust but Lowry was a non factor. Had plenty of open shots and opportunities to make plays just had nothing. Gotta think he’ll have a bounce back game 2
0- Posted on: Sat, 04/15/2017 - 6:22pm #1095761

OhCanada-ParticipantIt wasnt rust. Even if he is rusty he still gets his layups and his free throws. This was the length of Milwaukee. He needs to make adjustments.
As for Derozan being invisible during the 4th thats partly due to Lowrys bad play. Toronto tries to execute the same rotation minutes wise for thier stars every game. How it works is each half Derozan plays the full 12 minutes of the first qaurter and then half of the 2nd qaurter, exiting at the end of the 1st qaurter and entering at the 6 minute mark of the 2nd. Lowry plays the 1st 8 minutes of the 1st qaurter and then the full 2nd quarter exiting at the 4 minute mark of the 1st and entering at the beggining of the 2nd.
This allows Lowry to enter the 4th qaurter with the 2nd unit and really hit the opponents with a hard punch allowing Derozan ti close out the game. In this case Derozan was forced to enter with about 8 minutes left in the 4th while Milwaukee had momentum and the game was already shifted to the Bucks favour. The final 4 minutes or so when Derozan usually takes over the game was already done.
Actually there was a play with about a minute left in the game where Detozan drove for a layup and Giannis blocked it then stared down Derozan and yelled then got a tech. Young man shouldnt have taunted Derozan hes adding fuel to the fire, he shouldve just blocked it and kept it moving. No reason to poke a sleeping bear, unless he really wants the bear to wake up.

EspressoParticipantGiannis is such a beast man!!!
Great post OhCanada

HitsterParticipantThe Bucks looked very impressive and Giannis is very hard to contain when he is on form, Monroe also had an excellent game. But the Raptors came through two 7 game series last year and pushed Cleveland in the Conference Final so won’t panic and are used to the ups and downs of the play offs. But they will need DeRozan and/or Lowry to come up big if they are not going to face an uphill battle.

OhCanada-ParticipantRaps getting absolutely destroyed. I dont remember ever seeing a home see get thoroughly outplayed and outcoached. Toronto is trying here and the score is 57-25. Bucks are the real deal.

Jean_31ParticipantI know that the Bucks are a good team but as a Canadian (Quebec) (tough i’m mostly a basketball fan, i dont have One favorite team) I wonder if the Raps could ever be good in the playoff with leaders like Derozan and Lowry… They are good players in the season but in the playoff they usually choke (last year being a little exception)… And that being said I dont like their game at all, thats why im not a Raptors fan even if i’m a Canadian. As good as Kyle lowry is, I think he is on of the less fun player to watch
There is here some Raptors fans that thinks like me ? Or do u think that they are a good core to go to playoff with ? Im wondering…
0- Posted on: Thu, 04/20/2017 - 4:59pm #1096029

OhCanada-ParticipantIts a 7 game series. Toronto has committed to this core so its time for the players to do thier job. Ujiri has done everything he can, Casey has mixed and matched every possible lineup and got a banged up Raptors team to 50 wins and a home seed. The fans have continued to show love through it all. Now its on the players to fight and they are not fighting. Once again though 7 game series. You punch someone in the face enough times that person is likely to swing back unless its too late and tonight it was too late too early.

machu46ParticipantI think the Raptors are still better than Milwaukee and have a shot of coming back in this series, but we’ll see. Milwaukee is definitely outplaying them by a significant margin right now.
Lowry and DeRozan are really talented players, but the offensive system they have in place probably isn’t built for playoff basketball. Just not nearly enough ball movement. I don’t know if that’s because that’s the style DeRozan and Lowry like or if it’s coaching, but they need to get the ball moving more.

OhCanada-ParticipantAs much of a diehard Raptors fan I am I really love this Bucks team. Cant help but enjoy them when they are playing with this kind of intensity.
Back at home for game 6 they seem to have gottwn thier aggressiveness back. They are also playing zone and doubling each ball handler early in this one. Its working for them. Other teams cant do this against the Raptors, they lack the length to get hands in passing lanes and deny at the rim drive attempts but the Bucks are freaks of nature. Well see how Raps respond.
