Snatalini247ParticipantJust a general random question, in your guys opinion, who are the top 5 shooting guard prospects from the 2007 nba draft until now, and also maybe a top 5 since 2000, just because Im wondering where guys like Dewayne Wade would fit in to this. Also I wouldnt mind knowing where Josh Jackson would fit in to all this. Feel free to include combo guards that we arent sure of yet which position they will play in the future like Exum or Russell.
I dont really have an order to mine, but I guess Id go with Beal, Harden, Evans, Exum, and OJ Mayo for mine but like I said I have no real idea for this one

festar35Participant1. James Harden (09)
2. Jimmy Butler (11)
3. Klay Thompson (11)
4. Victor Oladipo (13)
5. Denar Derozan (09) and Bradley Beal (12)You also have Wesley Matthews (09) and Kris Middleton (12).
The SG position is actually got a lot of quality to it again and these guys are all young with room to improve, the only guy I would say has hit his ceiling is Matthews.
Not too mention IMO the best 3 SG’s in the NBA right now are Harden, Butler and Thompson. I expect Oladipo to enter the top 5 this season as well as he just plays with such aggression and is a very solid two-way player.0 - Posted on: Sat, 08/15/2015 - 4:32pm #1007827

redsoxfreak724ParticipantIf you’re really talking about "prospects", I’m suprised no one has brought up Eric Gordon. Out of high school, #2 player in the 2007 class on Rivals, ahead of Rose, Love, Harden, DJ, etc.
Such a shame he’s had to deal with so many injuries (wrist, hamstring, knee, torn labrum, and I’m sure others). I still think he has (or I guess had) the talent to be a consistent NBA All Star

Miko4rm206Participantbrandon roy and eric gordon would definatly be in the top 5 if it wasnt for injury. currently its Harden, Klay, D wade, Monta and Derozen. Beal and Olidipo are on the verge of top 5

Rip255The guy that said Jamal Murray is a top 3 pick is on the money.
I guess hes a combo…but hes a future scorer at pro level. Sauce Castillo is garbage and Murray will soon make all you potsmoking Canadians forget about him within 3 mths.
Im not snoozing on Malik Newman either.
I know this doesnt answer you qustion directly…but lately too many threads are based on the past.

BKGingerSnapParticipantBK GINGER SNAP’s High School Hype ratings:
1. OJ Mayo – He was a big deal. Became nationally known when he started playing high school ball in Kentucky and while living in west virginia as a 7th grader. Never lived up from expectations
2. Eric Gordon – Overtook Mayo as a senior in high school in most ratings, Illinois is still pissed he went to Indiana
3. Shabazz Muhammad – Although he was lying about his age (his dad said he was a year young than he really was), dominated AAU and high school ball as a teenager
4. Monta Ellis- high school senior in 04 and went straight to the NBA but he was flat out balling when he was youngin’ in Missisippi
5. DeMar DeRozan – Super athletic prospect who looked a sure fire all star
6. Bradley Beal – Beautiful jump shot lead him to getting Ray Allen comparisons.
7. Tyreke Evans – Unstoppable scoring machine, got to the bucket no matter what
8. Scotty Hopson – Oozed potential but couldn’t put it together. So athlentic and long, such a waste of talent
9. Xavier Henry – He had high hopes and was good enough to get his older a brother a scholarship at Kansas
10. Avery Bradley – His competitive fire lead many people fantasizing how much better he could become. Never developed the passing or vision to become a point guard.
Honorable mentions:
Kelena Azuibuike: I think he scored like 45 ppg as a high school senior in Kentucky. I can’t imagine how insane high school would be putting those numbers.
Lance Stephenson: Born Ready set every high school record in NYC but everyone knew he was a little crazy which hurt his hype.
