This is my list, full health is assumed in all cases and rather than sticking to a strict 1-5 ranking system I’ve lumped two players together where I feel they are too close to call between them. I’m also projecting based on their role, opportunities to produce and the improvements/declines that will result over the course of the year.

    PGs
    1. Chris Paul
    2. Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose
    4. DeronWilliams, Russell Westbrook

    SGs
    1. Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant
    3. Joe Johnson
    4. Eric Gordon
    5. Andre Iguodala

    SFs

    3. Rudy Gay, Carmelo Anthony
    5. Paul Pierce

    PFs
    1. LaMarcus Aldridge

    4. Al Horford, Chris Bosh

    Cs
    1. Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum
    3. Demarcus Cousins, Marc Gasol
    5. Greg Monroe

I added my own projections after the top 5. These are HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE and talk more to the players I feel are on the cusp of being something great, not necessary that, for example, Evan Turner will be a top 5 shooting guard. I just think he has the best chance, with Klay Thompson close behind. On to the list!

    PGs
    1. Chris Paul

    2. Deron Williams

    3. Rajon Rondo

    4. Russell Westbrook (would be third on the SG list)

    5. Derrick Rose

On it by the end of the year: Kyrie Irving

On it in 3 years: Ricky Rubio

    SGs
    1. Dwayne Wade

    2. Kobe Bryant

    3. James Harden

    4. Joe Johnson

    5. Andre Iguodala

On it by the end of the year: Evan Turner

On it in 3 years: Paul George

    SFs
    1. LeBron James

    2. Kevin Durant

    3. Carmelo Anthony

    4. Rudy Gay

    5. Paul Pierce

On it by the end of the year: Kawhi Leonard

On it in 3 years: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

    PFs
    1. Lamarcus Aldridge

    2. Kevin Love

    3. Pau Gasol

    4. Tim Duncan

    5. Josh Smith

On it by the end of the year: Blake Griffin

On it in 3 years: Anthony Davis (That was easy)

    Cs
    1. Dwight Howard

    2. Andrew Bynum

    3. Al Jefferson

    4. Marc Gasol

    5. Tyson Chandler

On it by the end of the year: Demarcus Cousins

On it in 3 years: Greg Monroe ( Honestly Monroe and Cousins could be switched)

Honestly looking at my list I dont know if Team 2 wouldnt beat Team 1 in a game, but I am confident in Team 1 in a 7 game series. I think that Team 3 would be the most fun to watch. A line up of Rondo, Harden, Anthony, Gasol, and Jefferson? The craftiness! The post play acumen! They would be impossible to stop in the paint.

Why is Al Jefferson so criminally underrated? He averaged only 1 turnover a game putting up 19-9 with a loaded frontcourt, and Devin Harris as a point guard.

Speaking of underrated, anybody else think Danny Granger went from underrated to completely overrated the last couple of years?
