What happened before the 2014-15 NBA season doesn’t matter whatsoever in these rankings. Neither does potential, and inevitable regressions to the mean are ultimately irrelevant for these purposes.

It’s all about what’s come to pass during the early portion of the current campaign, as we’re curious about how the Association’s best and brightest at each and every position stack up so far. That two-word phrase is undeniably key; it forces the focus to remain solely on the present and the last few weeks.

I think Wall should be higher, both Portland and Washington have very good records but the difference to me is that Wall is undoubtedly the best player on his team and he is carrying them , when on the other side Lillard has Aldridge who is playing pretty well (you have him at 2 just behind Davis)

I think tony parker deserves at least an honourable mention, epsecially when you have kyrie on that honourable mention list. no doubt the top 5 have all played exceptioanlly well, although personally I no-longer believe that paul is the best pg in the league.

A lot of big time players injured (Durant, Westbrook, Rose, Wade) or struggling (Stephenson, James, Griffin, Love) in the early season, making for some interesting ratings.  Tough omissions included Griffin, Bogut, Lawson (the only Nuggets player currently keeping the team afloat) and Lowry.  Even Draymond Green got some consideration, as he has been phenomenal in the early season and is probably one of the most underrated players in the league now, although I’m sure that will change if GS playing like they are.
