With stars leaving from most top 5 teams

    Kansas-Aldrich, Collins, probably Henry
    Syracuse-Johnson, Rautins, Onuaku
    Kentucky-Wall, Patterson, Cousins, possibly bledsoe
    Villanova-Reynolds, Redding

The only top 5 team with no stars leaving is Purdue. Is it possible for them to be the Preseason number one in 2010-2011…Who do you have as your top 5 teams for next year?

It’s always hard to predict a top 5 this early..Becuz no one knows what underclassmen are going pro & who’s transfering…Even a team like Purdue..They’re core players are underclassmen. But Someone might fool or talk 1 of their underclassmen into thinking they’re better than whut they are..And they might go pro…And players like Favors & Ed Davis might decide to come back..After not playing as well as they should’ve..So teams like UNC & Georgia Tech might be in the top 5 next year ..It’s best to wait until after all the dust have settled..Maybe late August is a better time to predict a top 5 list

Purdue and Michigan State should remain elite. North Carolina could be very, very good, particularly if Davis returns.

Zero percent chance Georgia Tech is in the top 10 next year, for what that’s worth.

Kansas should still be excellent, presuming Marcus Morris stays. Jayhawks will remain a top-10 team.

Kansas State absolutely will be a top-10 team. Rodney McGruder should break out and Denis Clemente is the only notable player leaving, and he shoots too much anyway. Jacob Pullen could be an All-American.

I expect a tremendous year from Virginia Tech, a team that’s currently sitting with a 21-4 record right now. Hokies lose no one of relevance.

In the Big East, it’s tough to say, but Syracuse could be exceptional if no one but Wes Johnson leaves and Fabricio de Melo is as good as advertised.

And if Dominique Jones decides to stick around, South Florida could legitimately be a top-10 team, though that’s doubtful.

West Virginia’s fate hinges, in large part, on Devin Ebanks. Will he return? If he does, will he break out as he was expected to this year?

In the Pac-10, things are still going to be very ugly. Crazy how bad that conference is. Arizona should be the team to beat.

And, going conference by conference, in the SEC, Mississippi and Kentucky should be the front runners. Tough to know who will stick around at Kentucky, but they’ll be good either way.

A number of mid-majors will be very strong, too. I like UMass to be this year’s Temple, as they lose Ricky Harris but improve overall.

I like that Adi! I think Kansas State will be very good next year as well. Top 10 team easy. With everyone returning except Clemente?! If Wally Judge gets a smarter basketball mind and improves his offensive game, he will make K-State dominant. Luis Colon is garbage, and Judge’s emergence would be great to replace him. Look out for Shane Southwell coming in too coming in. Nice scorer and defender from New York.

Florida will be dangerous next season too, especially if they get Brandon Knight. They would have some of the best guard play in the nation. Pprobably top-10 team.

Baylor will be a top 10 team with the length and athleticism that only a select few teams will be able to compete with. Perry Jones, Anthony Jones, and Quincey Acy will be a tough frontline. Add in LaceDarius Dunn’s shooting and you have a scary good team.

Look out for Florida State. They have nice defenders and a few good scorers in Mike Snaer and Chris Singleton returning. They also always have impressive size up and down their roster. They’ll be good. Top 15 worthy I’d say.

pac 10, i see UCLA, Arizona and washington State as the top 3.

UCLA will have malcolm Lee and tyler honeycutt leading the way. Both could be first rounders next season. Also Reeves Nelson is a very good big man and if in coming freshman Josh Smith is as good as advertised, they could be a top 20 team easily.

Washington St returns their top 3 players in Thompson, Casto and Moore. They have a very promising young core.

Arizona has a ton of great young athletes led by derrick williams down low and with Kyle Fogg, Jameele horn and mo mo jones on the wings, they are gonna be real good.

I could see all 3 of those teams being better then anything the pac 10 has this year and potentially top 25.

I like Syracuse being on top again. They have one of the top recuits and if Joseph and Trich doesn’t go pro, which I’m sure they’re not going to unless their foolish enough to think they are going to ge drafted. They’ll have three 7ft guys next year along with a SG that is highly rated in Dion Waiters who should replace Rautins. Joseph should be the go to player and hopefully Melo can hold it down in the middle.

    I shocked….Noone mentions the DUKIES!!!!

Singler may go pro if not, all were losing is Big Z and Lance Thomas.

Were adding Seth Curry, Kyrie Irving, Tyler Thornton and Joshua Hairston. We might also add 2 underrated JUCO transfers in Carrick Felix (6-6 wing, former Zona Commit) and Aziz Ndiaye (7-0 Big From Overseas/Southern Idaho)

If we get them…someone in Durham might be cutting the nets down!

Damn, I did forget Duke. They should be as good as they’ve been since the 2001 season next year.

VANDY is going to be strong.  They are only losing Jermaine Beal. All their youth gets a year older. Plus they have three 3 star recruits coming in.  They will have plenty of size, experience, & depth.  Solid shooting team & very good defensive team.

MEMPHIS…..Loaded.  Robert Sallie (3 point shooter), Will Coleman (brusier in the post), Angel Gacia (skilled big man that can stretch the floor, he can shoot), Wesley Witherspoon (defensive specialists who can score when needed), Elliot Williams (if he stays in school).  PLUS all the new recruits…They have 7 recruits as of now.  5 Star recruits Jelan Kendrick, Joe Jackson, & Will Barton.

FLORIDA will be very tough.  They only lose Dan Werner.  They have already signed a couple solid recruits.  If Brandon Knight chooses the Gators look out.

Butler- I think Hayward will stay in school.  They really aren’t going to lose anyone important.  This team will be solid.

I think all 4 of those teams will be top 10 teams.

How about Nova. They could be top 5 and definitely at least top 10. Yes they lose scottie reynolds and Reggie Redding but they still have that great freshmen class from this year that are all going to be soph’s next year. Solid recruiting class coming in next year. The Corey brothers come back as senior leaders along with pena inside. Corey Fisher I think is primed for a break out year next year when the ball will be in is hands more with scottie leaving. Hopefully he could show scouts he can play some of the traditional point guard position a lil bit to try to crack that first round in the 2011 draft.

We all "forgot" Duke because they’re losing Jon Scheyer, too. You know, their best player and stuff.

People really need to start looking things up before they make comments.

But they have Seth Curry coming in and Nolan Smith coming back to play PG. Add in a guy like Andre Dawkins, and I think that Duke can be better than they are this year.

They are losing their best player and point guard, but they are also bringing in Kyrie Irving, a top 5 freshmen. Irving will have the keys to the offense from day one, and will have the chance to be an immediate star.

They’re going to lose Scheyer, Singler (presumably), Zoubek and Thomas. That’s a boatload of important players.

They’ll be good, I agree. If Singler returns, they should be ACC title contenders at least. But the front court is pretty much just going to be the Plumlee brothers next year, unless Ryan Kelly proves he’s a heck of a lot better than what he’s done this year.

Also, I think you’re fooling yourself if you believe Coach K is giving Irving the "keys to the offense." Coach K hasn’t given anyone the keys to the offense, ever, and he’s certainly not handing them to a freshmen, no matter how talented.

Bobby Hurley average 7.6 apg as a freshmen, Jason williams averaged 14.5 ppg and 6.5 apg. Mike Krzyzewski hasn’t given anyone the “keys to the offense” RECENTLY, because he hasn’t had anyone talented enough to deserve them. He is perfectly willing to let freshmen play a large role if they are talented enough.

watch Ohio St. although they will lose Turner who is in my mind the POY front runner, they pick up Sullinger the best post player in the recruiting class and the SF they pick up is also very good top 10 guaranteed
