ChicagoCaseyParticipantThis list is how I rank the top prospects in the draft
- Jahlil Okafor – I fell like he was once the consensus top pick in the draft to now he’s behind Towns, Russell, Mudiay, and Porzingis. Mostly it’s due to the fact that does players are new and flashy. He’s the best player in my book. He have phenomenal post moves and footwork that will make him excel in the league. I fell he’s been underrated as a mid range shooter. He wasn’t ask to shoot at Duke so most people believe he can’t shoot. He regularly shot the mid range jump shot in High School, AAU, and at camps. I know most people will point out how he got a bad free throw shot so that means he can’t make mid range jumpers. Other flaws that scouts and fans nit pick is his defense. I believe that defense can be work on w/o the athletic attributes such as foot speed and how high you jump. I believe it’s about motor, communication, and the IQ. I firmly believe Jahlil have the work ethic to improve. And in 2-3 years I believe we will view Okafor as one of the best Centers in the game, if not the best.
- Emmanuel Mudiay – I fell like he’s been vastly underrated coming from a fan standpoint. Fans believe he’s just another international prospect that dominated international prospect all his life and never face " real " compitition. Those people need to do some research. He against the top prospects in the country in camps, high school, AAU, and All-Americans games/practices. In the Nike Hoop Summit he clearly was by far the best player at the event where Karl-Anthony Towns played, Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, Stanley Johnson, Kelly Oubre, Justise Winslow, and Myles Turner all played. He measured in at 6’5.5" with a 6’10" wingspan. He can drive, play in the PnR, post up, play defense, finish, and is a pretty underrated shooter. Mudiay get;s caught in the stereotype in he’s super athetic and can get to the paint at will then he must can’t shoot threes. He improved his shot from his junior to senior year. I’m not saying he’s Steph Curry from three, but im also saying he’s not Elfrid Payton. To top it all off he’s the best post up point guard i’ve ever seen coming out of high school.
- D’Angelo Russell – I fell like he got the most star power in this draft and the highest probability to become a star in this league. He’s an explosive score and a gifted passer. He remind me of James Harden, Manu Ginobli, and Brandon Roy. He got a great fell for the game and got the killer instict. I watched alot of D’Angelo and I came out impressed in almost every game. He do have a knock against him for only believe good against inferior competition. I look passed that because in the NBA he will be playing with better teammates that will take less pressure off him too carry the offensive load.
- Kristaps Porzingis – I fell like he’s getting a bad wrap in the draft conversations by fans. Fans view him as Darko Mililic and Andrea Bargnani. I fell that’s not faur because most fans that say that never saw him play and just compare stereotypes. He’s 7’1" 230 pounds ( according to him in an interview with SLAM ) with a great shooting stroke for a guy his size, very athletic, have above the rim athletcism, and has great touch. Mostly people like to bring up his slight frame for why he will be a bust in the league. People need to know that Kevin Garnett, Anthony Davis, and even Nerlens Noel came in with a very slight frame. He’s only 19 years old and his body have time to grow. Kristaps Porzingis have the most upside of any big man in the draft and he’s very comparible to Dirk Nowiski.
- Karl-Anthony Towns – I know, I know everyone will be like " how Karl-Anthony Towns is ranked…. " and " Karl-Anthony Towns does all of this better than so and so, so that’s why I believe he’s better ". I still project him to go number one overall. Not because He’s the best playerm but because he fit better than all outside of an unknown Kristaps Porzingis. Karl-Anthony Towns reminds me of Serge Ibaka. That’s not a bad comparioson at all because Serge Ibaka is a great player in this league. They share the same skill set. Shot blockers that’s not typically can guard the post, can hit the occasional jump hook, PnR man, and shooter. That’s not bad at all, but I don’t see that as a number one pick. All players ahead all can be number options and have intangables that seperate them from him. Towns is a great player and even an college I had a little problem with him in terms of on the cout stuff. He gets into a foul triuble even though he played limited minutes and he didn’t really show anything on offense.
- Mario Hezonja – He’s the best at the combo of being an great athlete and a great shooter. He have superstar ability in him. He’s 6’8" 215 pounds with an attitude. He can slash to the rim and dunk over you or he can pull up and shoot over the top of you. He have the talent of a top 3 pick and he have the athletic attributes to be such to be a top 3 prospect. He’s alos very explosive first step and a hot streak.
- Justise Winslow – He’s just a winner. He makes all the winning plays that you would need to win games. He’s a great energy guy that can slash to the basket and can hit the three ball off of a pass. He have a straight line drive game, he don’t have to dribble 20 times to get to the rim. He’s also the most powerful wing in this draft and can handle his own weight with pretty much anyone. He do not have a in between game and he can’t create his own offense. Also, will he be able to play in the wing in the NBA? Remember, he tooked off last year when Duke put him at the 4 so he can have better oppotunities.
- Willie Cauly-Stein – Willie have the potential to be the best defensive player in the league. He can guard the new NBA. He can hedge on PnR’s, double on PnR’s, switch on PnR’s, can guard all positions on the court, and can protect the paint. He’s not necessarliy a liabilty on offense, he can hit a baseline jumper and is a great run and jump athlete. I don’t have a comparison for him because he;s not the passer as Joakim Noah and I don’t believe Tyson Chandler can guard the perimeter as he can. He’s knows his job and that’s to be a locksown defender.
- Devin Booker – The best shooter in this draft goes to Devin Booker. I know alot of people thinking I’m overrating him a tad bit, but I would not pass on someone that’s a lockdown shooter that’s being compared to guys like Klay Thompson and Brad Beal. He didn’t show anything outside of shooting at Kentucky. That’s an NBA attribute that translates. Put him on a team like the Pistons or Hornets there’s instant spacing and the NBA loves it’s spacing. He’s the youngest player in the draft with a tom of potential left in here.
- Cameron Payne – This guy is stud. He reminds me of Tony Parker with a jumpshot. Not saying he will be better than him, just saying he plays like him except he have a jump shot that extends to the 3 point line. He have great touch and can make mostly all the passes. To top it all off he’s pretty good on defensem, he can block people shots and gets tons steals due to his long arms. I expected him to rise up draft boards based on the recent of Mid Major point guards that’s fairing well in the league such as Elfrid Payton and Damien Lillard.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI wasn’t born when those two coming out of high school. The key word in that sentence was " i’ve ". I’m 18 years old and I never saw a point guard already good in the post and knows how to be effective with it.

zer0d0ubtWatch his new workout video, or his china "highlights’. The explosiveness is greatly diminished.
And his jumper looks like Austin Rivers’. Releases it on his way down with clunky results.
But maybe Mudiay will have one good playoff game in four years…
