MettaWorldDurant1ParticipantHeres What My Draft Board Would Look Like. Please Post Yours
#1 NOP- Josh Jackson- Holiday is back he looks good. You got Hield, Davis good pick in the Wiggins type project
#2 76ers- Markelle Fultz- The best fit in their with Embeast and Ben Simmons..Especially if they believe Simmons is the future primary ball handler
#3Wizards- Harry Giles- Would really hate to see them here but assuming John Wall sticks around Giles is the best option. All start potential and you can bring him on slow.. You have Porter, And Morris there already
#4Mavs- De’Aron Fox- Mavs have a couple solid prospects at the foward spots not so much at the gaurds. Alot of choices here at Pg it was hard but the Mavs would go for the safer option in Mr.Fox over Lonzo Ball (MCW?)
#5 Heat- Ivan Rabb- I think he has big upside and will rise throughout the season can stretch the floor for whiteside and is a weapon in transition
#6 Suns- Harry Giles- Knees kinda suspect so hes sliding but could even end up going one or two when all is said and done. two way big with smooth shot can anchor an defense
#7Nuggs- Jayson Tatum- Stocking it up i see lol..would be toxic to take a gaurd again Taytum is Best availabe outside of that
#8 Knicks- Lonzo Ball- A really good spot for him hes playing well but im thinking nba.. really wouldnt be asked to do SO MUCH with the way the roster is right now but he is the type of player to help push a team towards winning culture he plays the right way
#9Minny- Miles Bridges- team is gonna be loaded i must say..He’ll rise as the year goes along.. big time player can slot in behind or with KAT and Wiggins could see them meshing so well.
#10Kings- Dennis Smith- A little hard to let him slip here but draft order will most likely change and he does has injury history could go higher but the Kings definetley need players of his caliber ..especially at PG

SubZeroParticipantYou put Harry Giles twice

Bankroll PJParticipantThese comparisons between Lonzo Ball and MCW gotta stop. The only thing they have in common is their size. MCW was a late bloomer and never had the feel as a PG. He’s never been known as a leader or a good shooter and was drafted more so on his upside as a 6’5 PG than the player that he was at the time. Lonzo Ball is legit. The only knocks I have seen on him is his ugly shooting form, but the kid can shoot it and with range. He’s a charimsatic leader and guys want to play with him. He’s a special passer, underrated athlete, and triple-double threat every time he’s on the court. This PG class is loaded with elite prospects including Fultz, Smith, Fox, the 6’5 foreign kid, and *Monk, so I’ll refrain from ranking them until I see more, but I truly believe that 6 of the guys listed will have a better career than MCW and be legit starting PGs in this league

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts a little too early for me to list a top 10 until i see few more gms from them…and see the duke trio.Adebayo will be in the conversation for top 10 by the end of season..mark my words..

D7H7NParticipantThere’s no way the top 5-7 picks won’t be the four point guards. If Washington ends up with a top 5 pick they might trade it away to a team desperate for a point guard.

Hype MachineI laugh when I see these American only draft boards.
I’d rather see a bold prediction at this point in the season than a regurgitation of the common prospect rankings.
Jonah Bolden has been very impressive playing pro in Europe. Showing a completely different level of play than at UCLA. Hes as good as Trey Lyles.
I’m in a contest about who is the best shooter in college. My man is Miami Freshman DJ Vaseljevic, who is averaging 3 triples a game on 50% in only 20mpg.
The best shooter in the NCAA is going to be a lottery pick.
Gimme a break with your yankee doodle dandy big boards.

ChoppyParticipantLook, I’m the same as you in wanting to see Aussie players drafted high, but even I have to take issue with a few things you’re saying here. Firstly, Bolden won’t be top ten. Let’s just say he is as good as Lyles. Lyles wasn’t even drafted top 10 in a weaker draft than this one. Potentially Bolden is first round talent, but with the talk surrounding his exit from UCLA (right or wrong) and playing OS, that will drop his stock to probably second round.
As far as Dejan Vasiljevic, you reckon a lottery pick is gonna be a player that doesn’t start on his own college team? Yes, I know that Lyles was drafted off the bench in the lottery, but that was Kentucky. Shooting specialists do have value, but I don’t see lottery pick in Vasiljevic. Probable late first round (at this stage) if he keeps up that level of shooting.
Surprised you also didn’t hype up Humphries?

binetParticipantI am not saying Bolden is a bad prospect, I do not remember seeing him play (though I should if he indeed played with UCLA…), but ABA is a league where a lot of young european talent play and are way more impressive than what his current statistics (which are decent) show. Last year Timothée Luwawu ended up late in the first round with better statistics and was several months younger in arguably a better team (Bolden: 8.9 pts, 6.1 rbds, 1.1 ass, 48.9% 2Pt, 31.8%3Pt / Luwawu: 14.6 pts, 4.8 rbds, 2.8 ass, 41.9%2Pt, 37.2%3Pt). Other guys like PF Lauvergne had major roles in this league in their early 20s and were second rounders (Lauvergne qualified his team for the euroligue as the team captain, got drafted and stayed one year to actually play in the euroligue). Luwawu is not exactly excelling so far in the NBA (too soon maybe) and Lauvergne is a decent player but far from outstanding. No team should take Bolden high in the lottery if he plays like he is. Actually, if like his stats are telling he is playing as a big man, I would say no team at all in the NBA shall draft him.

binetParticipantI think by the end of the year if the Wizards are in position to land the #1 pick they will trade either Wall or Beal, more probably Wall and select a PG, right now Fultz seems so much above the class that I would say him.
Every other bad team except the Suns should take a top PG as well given the class. Even the Suns might trade Bledsoe and Knight and take a PG.
Fultz can probably play SG also if any team that does not want to change its PG ends up in the lottery and wins it.
Josh Jackson is older than the rest f the group, and even if he was touted and this draft site, unlike others, had him over the great PGs, his beginning of the season is clearly not as impressive as Fultz or Ball and Fox or Smith should be taken over him by any team other than Phoenix or a very special case Philadelphia (if they have pick 3 & 5 or something with Lakers pick).
I think Ivan Rabb in the top 5 is more than a stretch. His size and athleticism is below average at the next level and most team that struggle already have a PF for the near future.

Flameres15Participant1. NOP- Markelle Fultz. The Pelicans need scoring, and Fultz has looked like a beast in his first two games.
2. PHI- Lonzo Ball. Ball is the most athletic player in this draft, and he might be the best ball handler. His explosive style and complementary three-point shooting should transition to the NBA.
3. WAS- Jayson Tatum. This could go either way between Jackson and Tatum, but I think eventually Tatum will show his smooth game and overtake Jackson. The Wizards would slide Otto Porter to the 4, providing better spacing.
4. DAL- Dennis Smith Jr. The Maverics take the best pure point guard in Smith. His game is comparable to Chris Paul, which should entice teams earlier in the draft.
5. MIA- Josh Jackson. The Heat have needs at the wing and at the four. Josh Jackson can switch between the 2 and the 3. His game will need more work to translate to the NBA, but he is young, so no worries.
6. PHX- Jonathan Isaac. The Suns as a whole make no sense, but individually there are many solid pieces. Isaac would add to this, so hopefully they make a move. I view Isaac as the Durant-esque player, so this is a low risk-high reward pick.
7. DEN- Harry Giles. Like the Suns, there are a lot of players on the Nuggets to build around, but none that are "Franchise" caliber. Harry Giles provides that elite characteristic.
8. NYK- Lauri Markkanen. The Knicks could go with a guard here, but Markkanen is the best player available. His ability to stretch the floor would bode well for a team that wants to run the triangle offense.
9. MIN- Ivan Rabb. The only real positional need for the Timberwolves is at the 4. The team truly needs continuity for a couple of years.
10. SAC- Frank Ntilikina. I don’t know what to do with the Kings, except to hit the reset button (again). Ntilikina is a decent shooter, but has too many unknowns to go much higher. This pick should signal a new era of Kings basketball.

SubZeroParticipantI think you mixed up Lonzo Ball and Dennis Smith Jr.
0- Posted on: Sun, 11/20/2016 - 4:24pm #1088589

Flameres15ParticipantHonestly, Lonzo Ball has been out-performing Smith Jr. as the 2nd best point guard. I think most teams are going to like Ball’s athleticism and decision making. He is averaging 8.3 assists on a UCLA team that doesn’t use a point guard. Also, standing at 6’6", Ball projects as a 2-guard, which provides more versatility than Dennis Smith at 6’2".
These are also really early top-10 projections, so Smith’s should improve.

binetParticipantLonzo Ball form is atrocious and you mentionned him as a 3pt shooter.
You speak of Dennis Smith as a true PG while Lonzo Ball is even more than him a true PG.
I agree Lonzo has shown more so far, but at the same time your descriptions are off. Especially when you give Philly Lonzo Ball as a pick when he does not really fit their team in theory alongside Ben Simmons, who is basically a Bigger, Taller, Lefty Lonzo should he decide to run the point.
0- Posted on: Mon, 11/21/2016 - 5:56am #1088596

Bankroll PJParticipantNBA teams are trending toward having more than 1 guy that can facilitate plays, so I don’t think Lonzo Ball and Ben Simmons playing together would be a problem. Having two guy that can be elite playmakers is a bonus. It would make them even more dynamic because you’d have to guys that are great rebounders and great at leading the break. And Embid is a superstar so all half court offense could run through him. Even if Ben Simmons never develops as a shooter, it wouldn’t matter much because Embid has shown to the ability to shoot threes. I think any of the projected lottery PGs would fit the 76ers just because Simmons and Embid are so talented that it wouldn’t matter. However, Fultz is probably the best fit
0- Posted on: Mon, 11/21/2016 - 7:13am #1088599
binetParticipantI still think having 2 subpar shooters on the perimeter (which I assume Simmons and Ball will still be by 2017, not 100% certain but probable) is not that good. Of course if Simmons plays the 4 it’s different, but with Saric being the 2nd best rookie this year and bringing everything you want from a 4, I just don’t think Saric off the bench is the long term plan for the sixers. Saric may not seem to be a star, he brings everything you want from a PF offensively, and he is improving fast on the defensive end and rebounds. Given he is from a non english speaking country (players who adapt the slowest), his improvements should make him a very good player in this league.
Also listenning to Brett Brown comments on Simmons, I think there is a real intention in Philly to turn him into a PG. Magic Johnson dreams are just too hard to pass on apparently. We shall see.

SubZeroParticipantYeah I was speaking more of your descriptions of each. Ball is nowhere near the most athletic player in this draft or a knockdown shooter, but he’s definitely more of a true PG than Dennis Smith is. I don’t have any problem with where you put them, it just looks like you mixed up the scouting reports

khaled_a_dParticipantWell,with such deep PG class it seem that the Mavs has tanked in the right time.
We are now the worst in the league so top 4 picks for sure unless Dirk return ruin it,but it actually seems from Cuban & RC interviews that we are ebracing the tank process and this season will be all about developing Barnes,Anderson and Dorian Finney-Smith,probably once Dirk comes back we will push to get him the 30K and that is it.
While we are in know position to draft by position and should surely go for BPA we know that we love to have a good starting PG for RC system and we have a history of going after PG in the draft.
PS:RC is Rick Carlisle if any body is confused0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/21/2016 - 5:47pm #1088612

HitsterParticipantDallas probably really need to start rebuilding, Dirk certainly deserves 30,000 points and I sincerely hoped he gets there. He may even want to play on to help the team next year as they rebuild. Dallas have only been outside the play offs once in the last 16 seasons and even then they finished at 0.500 and that was the year Dirk missed nearly 30 games. But that year they passed on Giannis in the draft which they must still regret.
Whilst post their 2011 title, Dallas have remained a play off contender, the 2011 final win over the Heat remains the last play off series Dallas won, so maybe they do take a step back this year and look to get a really good pick. They already have Barnes in place and he is only 24 and has title winning experience. Dallas have a top coach and a good Front Office, so I could see them carrying out a successful rebuild over the next few years.
They will also have nice cap space to play with over the next few years, so if Mark Cuban would be happy to allow a trip or two to the lottery then Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle would have a good chance to rebuild the team.
Who Dallas might pick would of course depend where they ended up, but I’d back them to do their due dilligence and extract the required player.

theballerwayParticipant1- J.Jackson
2 – Fultz
3 – L.Ball
4 – B.Adebayo
5 – D.Fox
6- J.Isaacs
7 – Giles
8 – L.Markkanen
9 – D.Smith Jr
10 -D. Bacon/ M.Bridges
to be fair this is more a reference for me to look back on. I haven’t seen The Frank kid, im not a Tatum fan tbh and I think Monk could be in the top 10 eventually I just gotta see that shot go in a few more times in a few more games. I think Smiths losing ground as he look kinda pedestrian at the moment, (over thinking poor shooting and turnovers ). I know people say Bacons older but hes one year older in age and class than Josh Jackson so I don’t think it hurts so much as a wing player. Bridges team will lead to too big a workload for his skill set thus hurting him even though he will get plenty of shots.
If the Duke guys show up this is a really deep draft it would seems
