CoachWyersParticipantHere is a funner one than the earlier current Top 10. Who do you think the Top 10 Players of All Time are? I am in the minority and give the slight edge of Kareem over Jordan for GOAT.
1. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
2. Michael Jordan
3. Bill Russell
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Lebron James
6. Wilt Chamberlain
7. Magic Johnson
8. Tim Duncan
9. Shaquille O’Neal
10. Larry Bird0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/03/2018 - 4:51pm #1123517

10)Kobe Bryant. As far as impact on the game MJ is clearly Number 1, and Lebron moves up closer to 3. But you can’t deny Bill…even for the different time frames.

Captain LParticipantRussell was on a great team all those years he won championships, he had great players around him but saying he is a top 10 player is like saying Gobert is a top ten player. Great defensive player , one of the best ever but the compeetition back then wasn’t nearly as good as it is now, I watched him and Wilt & Oscar they were great for their time but the game has changed and the players are better now , especially the number of players are good.
I’m a Jazz fan and love Gobert but him and Russell are not top 10 all time players.

celtics1982ParticipantYou can’t discredit older players because they game has changed! The true best players ever would have been great during any ERA they played in. Russell is like twice the player Gobert is, the guy averaged 15.1 points, 22.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game for his career. He has 163.5 win shares, which ranks him 18th all time. Even though he only played 12 years.

Captain LParticipantAs a celtic fan I can’t believe you have Bird at 10, he is easily a top 5 IMO. Watch him.

mowestenParticipantI find it hard to believe the best player in the history of the game was a 6’10 big man who shot 44 percent for his career from the field, never shot anywhere even close to 50 percent from the field in a single season, once shot 41 percent from the field in a single season, never averaged more than 18 points in a single season, and shot a lower free throw percentage for his career than Dwight Howard and Shaquille O’Neal. He actually only shot 60 percent from the line twice in 13 years. He played much of his career when the league was barely intigrated.
It may be sacreligious to say, but I find it incredibly unlikely that there hasn’t been a better basketball player in the history of basketball.

TRC1991ParticipantWhoever has Kobe Bryant in your top 10 does not either study, understand or look at advanced analytics.

ZouldiersParticipantNeither does Wilt or Bill and yet one scored a 100 and the other has 11 rings.

Captain LParticipantI watched Bill & Wilt and they are both great but the game has changed and the competition is much better now.
