 Good Morning People.

Just curious that this site lists Wroten comparison to Tyreke, which is not bad. But watching this kid play i have seen this :

-Both share the outstanding ballhandling ability.

-Uncanny ability to attack the rim due to ball control and strong bodies.

-Wroten´s shot is bad as my granma´s, Tyreke´s shot is a bit ahead of Wroten a this stage. (and that is saying a lot) Wrotens FT is atrocius to say the least.

But there are some major diferences, Wroten´s Explosiveness and overall athleticism is avobe Tyreke´s, he is closer than Wade in this area. (not saying he will be Wade)

Future outcome:

Wroten needs to fix his shot, and polish his FTs, and at least develop a better midrange game in order to be efective at the next level.

His decision making is Questionable, his cout vision is good but he tries too hard to be flashy.

For Me, he needs to stay one more year and develop a better shot, a la Derrick Rose(Hard Work), and reduce his high TO ratio by making the simple play.

If he works like a madman on this i can see more of Wade in the NBA than Evans.

What do you think about his ceiling?

If this guy can come a true PG then he is going to be too unique a future multiple star i really love him as a pg..

if he can’t he might be just an avg starter or good combo of the bench..

overall the second biggest question in the draft next to Perry Jones

I think the Evans compaison is a very good one actually. I agree with the ball handling assessment being very close, but their shot is also similar. Neither guy is a lights out shooter but they both have unbelievable court vision and passing ability. They are both very flashy players. Wroten could stay 1 more year, but without Terrence Ross as his running mate I don’t see how his numbers increase that much. Unless you live in Washington I don’t think you get to watch any of their games so I am going by what I have seen on clips and what I have read.  I will have to wait for the tournament to give a fair assessment.

 Tyreke Evans all over again.

I’m telling you guys, he will not be a PG in the NBA, he will be more of a combo, who will play the 2 more than he plays the 1, watch and see.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s going to be a PG the league.  I see more Lance than Tyreke.  I mean, I dont think he’s the head case as Lance, but I don’t think he’s nearly as good, nor will he have the rookie impact as Tyreke Evans.

He makes a lot of mistakes so the team he goes to will play a big part in his development.  If he goes to a bad team, then I could see him getting pretty good minutes in order to develop him, but if he goes to a playoff team where playoff position is at stake and mistakes aren’t as tolerated, then I could see him barely scratching the lineup and only playing in 30-40 games or so.

 I always like to be very optimist in my player predictions, trying to focus more about the players ceiling.

But you have a good point, he may not be a PG in the league, more of a Point Forward.

 

So i will put three likely scenarios. (likely)

5% The stays in college for three years, develop a midrange game and a decent shot—A better Terrence Williams version, leaning towards a poor mans Wade.  ceiling 24ppg 5 rpg 6 assists 3 TO on a bad team, lesser numbers on a good team.

25% He develops similar to Tyreke 18ppg 5 rpg 4 assists 3-4 Topg

70% He develops a la Terrence Willliams or Lance, without their bad conduct. and a bit more playing time.

I think that Tony has the ability to play PG in the NBA. He’s got plus size, decent quickness and speed, great handles, terrible shot, ability to get to the rim especially against smaller defenders, and the thing I’ve seen him do best in the few times I have watched Washington is set up his teammates.

I am a pretty big Tony Wroten supporter so maybe I am a bit biased but I like this young man’s potential ability to run a team at the NBA level in a few years.

 Anyone think that he would make a good complement to Brandon Knight in Detroit? The Pistons would obviousely have to trade down but i feel it would be a good spot for him.

 I think he’ll thrive in the NBA with a more fast paced game. He’s not the athlete Wade is, and he’s not as big as Evans, but i think he can be a very effective pass-first combo guard with his ability to get into the lane and create.

 6`6 1/2 seems legit SG size, even at SF, Similar to Tyrekes build

A tournament bid is not guarenteed for this team, they’re 17-8 but Pac -12 is so weak that none of those wins are great wins. But they do usually do well in Pac-12 tournement.
