With the trades that happened today, its safe to say the Wroten era starts now. Great talent, can really pass and get to the hole. He is fun to watch and has major upside. His shooting is bad, but he has improved since UW.. MCW is gone so Wroten will be the starter next year. I see allot of yall saying D Russ in the draft or E Mudd, but what if we dont get them. I would rather see Wroten with Oubre or Stanley Johnson. Drafting Mudiay would feel like Jrue all over again, or MCW. Tryna figure out what we have with our PG. The Sixers need wing talent with these draft picks. People underestimate Tony, I believe he has John Wall potential.

I think your getting a little carried away there. He has potential to put up big numbers for Philly because, frankly, who else is gonna score? However, he has nowhere near the vision of a john wall and his outside shooting is abysmal. I don’t even really see him as a point guard. More of an undersized two guard with great handles.

Wroten is 6’6”. He can’t be undersized.

Even with his willingness to pass to rock, I don’t see him ever reaching a solid PG status… ever.

it would be nice if he fixed that damn jumper. But hes a good run and gun player, but he doesnt have the court vision or point guard savy like john wall..

Also if philly goes into the year with tony wroten playing point guard, they will suck. Point blank. They traded michael carter williams because they think they can land russell or mudiay.

Has a lot of game and does things naturally that cant be taught, just have to see if he can improve especially turnovers. BTW John wall’s jump shot didn’t happen overnight.

Makes me question the IQ on this website…if the inital post is getting +7.

Wroten is a good transition finisher.  His defense is subpar, his frame is undersized.  He might be tall but he has a slender frame.  He’s a hell of a finisher but what about PG do you see in him?  He doesn’t distribute the ball or make the right pass or set a tempo.  He just goes to the hole or misses bad from outside.  He’s not a smart player.  His defense is nothing to write about.  He’s not a difference maker, but he’s a good player on a bad team.  He’s an NBA player due to his athleticism, but he’s NOT a smart player.

I thought MCW’s ability to rebound was his only +++.  He was an average defender htough he was able to come up with timely steals.  He coudn’t shoot, period.  His offensive game in the paint was sluggish but decent enough not to blow up the ship.  I think MCW is better than Wroten.  He lost his poise this year.  Last year against the Miami Heat in that first game he was as poised a rookie as they come.  But he became a headcase on a bad team.  I still would hae liked to see what he did with Embiid.

However, I think D. Russell and Mudiay are gonna be much better players than MCW.  I think MCW reached his peak, but if he stopped turning the ball over and played within himself I think he could have been fine as a part of the solution.

Now we just have to wait and see.

great post. wroten sucks. one of the dumbest, wildest players i’ve ever seen.

i don’t think he’s long for this league. he’s not a core player for the 6ers and if he ever gets traded to a good team his coach will bury him if he has any idea what he’s doing.

Its funny when people forget about players like Westbrook, Rose, Wall and Rondo.. Who didnt have jumpshots when they got to the league.. Haha. Wroten is only 21, typical fans tho. If you watched Sixers games you would see he has great vision, his passing is really good. Yeah he has turnovers, but who else handled the rock when MCW was out with the injury…? Exactly. I agree Russell is a beast, but Sixers have been down this road before. Lets see what pick we get.

People blast MCW for putting up empty stats on a bad team but then praise Wroten for basically doing the same thing.  The only difference I guess is expectations, since Wroten wasn’t a lottery pick it’s more surprising for him to put up empty numbers on a historically embarassing team.  But same thing.  Philly will trade him next trade deadline for half a 2nd round pick and a protected sandwhich..

But in all seriousness, dude will be coming back off an ACL injury.  That is a two year injury, one for rehab, one to normalize.  He is still young enough that he came come back and get on the same track he was headed (to tradeville).  But history says we have already seen the best of him.  I have a hard time thinking of a guard who hasn’t regressed after an ACL injury.

Even if he doesn’t comeback from the shell of his aggressive transitional attacks…who’s actually ready for Wroten vision? His lanes are 3-4 steps ahead of everyone. I idolize this guy as a 21-year-old player, off the strength of his vision alone. "It Was Wroten"

I’m as a big a fan of Wroten as anyone but he’s a net negative on the court right now. Luckily, so is everyone else in Philly and maybe he’ll continue to improve. he’s certainly not lacking any talent. He needs a mentor like Andre Miller to mold him and teach him the game.

For a franchise to have so much prestige, it’s weird to not hear of the longtime players from the past comeback like the Kareem Abdul-Jabbars etc. within the Lakers organization.

I don’t understand Philly throwing away MCW and KJ for next to nothing.

They have 8 picks in the draft which is crazy. They will be able to move up in the draft if they need to but I question how much superstar talent is in this draft.

When do they decide it is time to start winning?!

You’re overvaluing stats. He’s not better than MCW,so if the sixers continue their “””””logic”””””” he will be traded for 2018-2019 first round picks.
