Tony Parker should’ve just hung it up, it’s not like he needs to chase a ring. It would’ve held more weight by being one of the few to play for only one NBA team; I see, he doesn’t know any better. Eventually, he’s going to sign a 1-day contract to retire a Spur, all for nothing.

Some players dont play for legacy or how much weight it has to the public. Maybe he just loves the game and wanted to play a certain way or certain minutes. Maybe the Spurs told him his role will be more limited as they aiming to play the younger guys and see what they got. Many spurs dipping out too. Plus it 10 million lol

  LOL. He’ll say he just loves the game to the media but c’mon! $10 million… Vets nowadays arent just gonna hang it up. Guys well continue to play till their bodies give out its just way more money then before.

Tony Parker doesn’t have anything else to prove. He’s am NBA champion and one of the best PG’s of the last decade and a half even though he hasn’t gotten any of the respect he deserves. He just continued to win championships while Nash, and CP3, Westbrook and Derrick rose amongst others got all the attention winning zero rings. Leave the guy alone.

Wanted to go get paid 10 mil to hang out with his buddy Nic Batum for a couple of years, and all he has to do is ball for 10mins a game with no pressure to win. Gets in the HOF and his shirt retired after that. What a life.

You have to at least somewhat wonder if the spurs basically forced Parker out to make one last attempt to patch things up with kawhi. After all, he was the most vocal critic on the team of kawhi sitting out last season.

  This was what I was thinking. Also, if someone’s gonna pay him, he can contribute and still enjoys his job he’d be a fool not to keep playing.

  Wow, didn’t think of that. I wonder if that is the first step in patching things up with Kawhi? If so, then Tony Parker has again put the Spurs first by moving on.

Tony probably wants to retire on his own terms when the time is right. He doesn’t need the money but it’s a nice bonus. Charlotte is a middling team to join, it’s not like he’s gone to a contender or to be a mentor on a rebuilding team or will have likely immediate large playing time.
If Kemba did move on and the Hornets got in a young PG then Tony would be a good mentor.

Yes i would have liked to see you stay with your team, but its a buisness, and this is his last paycheck.
