I’m sure there a a good deal of small colleges or even high-majors that would be willing to take on a young, offensively gifted and promising PG who was a former McDonald’s All-American.

He should transfer, at 5’10” and only one year of college basketball under his belt, and for a poor team at that, doesn’t bode well for his draft status. Right now he is a less experienced Sherron Collins, who’s stock was hurt by his play in the tournament, but if a team is looking for an undersized point guard in the 2nd round I would imagine Collins would be picked up before Mason-Griffin.

Mason-Griffin is a better prospect than Collins, even if it’s too early for him to enter the draft. He’s got blazing speed, is a good passer, can shoot it from outside with more than 40%. In a mid major college, he could average 20pts and really make a team better, now he has to find the good spot. He also has to work on his shot selection and cut his turnovers down.

Mason definitely is a little more athletic because of none of the wear and tear..but I think that Collins is the better leader.
Mason has better handles but collins has a nice enough cross over to get through the lane.
Both pretty much equal it would be fun to see these guys in the league..with the trending pointing to smaller pg’s

He is not transferring. His attitude didn’t translate well to college and he believes he will be first rounder. It is a light year for PG’s but his height, attitude, and unimpressive freshmen campaign will make him at best a very late second rounder. More than likely we will never hear from him again.

I think the guy is headed for either the D-League or Europe. If a guy doesn’t have first round pedigree, then it is hard to believe a team is going to want to hang onto a rookie who has some maturing to do. He has talent, but there are plenty of young 5’11 guards with potential who can come off an NBA bench that won’t bang heads with the coach.

If the guy doesn’t like college or OU coaches, then this might not be an awful decision. It all depends on whether this season’s crew with OU and Capel is just a bad fit. If it is just isolated, then maybe he can make it through the back roads. He’ll certainly be on a summer league team. Maybe spending a season in the D-League will humble him a bit. D-League money isn’t great, but for year or two of development it isn’t awful. Basically, it would be an apprenticeship for either the NBA or an oversees team that pays decently.

his attitude doesnt trasnlate well in college?…hes isnt the first or only guy who has had a attitude in college..there are alot of guys who have worst attitudes. his attitude works in college because he is talented so it can trasnlate to almost any school other then the coaches who wont put upwith it liek a coack k or coach pitino..

and why do peopel think just because there arent many pg in this years draft then a pg has a good chance of going first round?…none of ya’ll who think this are taking into accoutn that many teams already have the point guards that they want or the fact that there are better players at different positions. theres not alot of good centers but that doesnt mean just any center is gonna go first round
