It is absolutely amazing that he only averaged 5 points per game on the Bucks in the 2012-2013 season and then gets shipped over to the Magic and averages 17 a game. Somehow this man averaged 11(!) minutes a game with the Bucks. This really makes me wonder how many other great players we have in this league that will never get an opportunity to shine.

He really had some outstanding stats toward to the end of the season. He averaged 20 a game in April. I think he is one of the few players in the league that can effectively play the SF and PF positions. Tobias is strong, athletic and has a great looking shot. He has shown flashes of great rebounding as well. The Magic have a strong looking team going into next season with Harris, Vucevic, Oladipo and Harkless.

CoachLinkParticipantI’ve loved Tobias Harris since high school he has shown that he could be this player I have always said depending on the program that you are in will determine the type of player you will become he now is in a situation where he has the green light in milwakee BJ and Ellis were ball dominant… I think with a quicker first step he could be dominant but he also has to share mins with Mo Harkless which could be a beast as well it’s still really early in their careers so Sky’s The Limit

The Bucks didn’t know how to use him and the Magic got a steal in that deal, but I would still like to see an entire season of him getting significant minutes before I start going crazy of him.

I hate the “tweener” label that’s associated with him. As my man Jalen Rose would say… Tobias is a “Hybrid” because of his ability to beat his defender on the offensive end of the floor (too strong for SF’s and too quick for PF’s). Long term, I personally believe he’s more of a 4 since he’s likely to get stronger and hold his position better in the post on defense. He’s also shown good court vision, and can distribute the ball effectively in the half court set and transition.
I Strongly believe his career trajectory will line somewhere in between Josh Smith and Carmelo, with the upside to become an All Star reserve someday. The Magic fleeced him from the Bucks

For the Magic I questioned where they were headed following the Howard fiasco, not getting much apparent value at the time of the trade, but in a sort of unconventional way they have some really nice pieces put together.

He did give up that quickly on a super raw 20 year old Harris, Good for Orlando recognizing talent.
