This goes out to all the people who judged and asked to be judged on their Mock Drafts. This draft just hopefully gives further proof than when talking about prospects and where they will be picked, Mock Drafts should more than likely not be involved. It would be great if we could have our own Big Boards as well as Mock Drafts, and flip between the two, but until than, every year, we will get the same thing. "I can’t see him going that high", "No way Chukwudiebere Maduabum goes over David Lighty and Ben Hansbrough", "The Lakers promised Julyan Stone at 41". I am guilty of it, we all are guilty of it.

    Remember when:

    • There was no way that Tristan Thompson was going 6 to the Wizards? Well, turns out that was due to the Cavs scooping him at 4.
    • Kawhi Leonard was seen as a probable top 5 pick by Chad Ford?
    • Brandon Knight was a lock to go to the Jazz at 3? Also, there would be no way he would slip by the Raptors, Kings/Bobcats?
    • Their would be no way that Michael Jordan would draft the Congolese version of Kwame Brown?
    • Marcus Morris was a lock to go before Markieff?
    • The Knicks coveted Darius Morris, Josh Selby, Bismack Biyombo, Jimmer Fredette, Nikola Vucevic, Kemba Walker, Chris Singleton, Alec Burks, Jordan Hamilton, Jeremy Tyler, Charles Jenkins, LeRoy Jenkins, the Dread Pirate Sunny Muffins and than, finally, Iman Shumpert at #17?
    • Nolan Smith was a lock to slip into the second round? There was no way he would be the 6th PG taken in the draft…….
    • Davis Bertans was promised a first round pick, and Nikola Mirotic would slip into the 2nd round since he is signed to slavery in Europe until 2019?
    • Reggie Jackson was promised the 24th pick to the Thunder, but than it was that he was promised the 31st to Miami? Plus, nearly every Mock Draft had Kyle Singler as a lock there?
    • Marshon Brooks was a sleeper to go in the lottery, and close to a lock to go top 20 due to his Kobe Bryant comparisonitis?
    • Norris Cole was going to go in the top 10, and slipped all the way to 28!
    • Cory Joseph was said to have a promise in the early second round, which turned to the mid-second round, that turned to him being given a try-out after every other undrafted FA signed with the teams of their choice? Well, looks like Cory made a pretty nice decision.
    • Jordan Hamilton was also considered a lotto sleeper, and was said to be on Philadelphia’s radar for 16?
    • There was no way Josh Selby would go as low as we had him on the Forum Mock Draft?
    • Bojan Bogdanovic was going to be a mid to late 2nd rounder?
    • Darius Morris was making a good decision by entering the draft? Well, he ended up on a pretty nice team, rest is up to him.
    • Ater Majok had no chance of being drafted as a 25 year old who had dropped out of UCONN seemingly 8 years ago?
    • Tyler Honeycutt, Jeremy Tyler and Charles Jenkins were all possible 1st rounders?
    • That there was no way that Jon Diebler would be chosen over David Lighty? Or Ben Hansbrough?
    • Scotty Hopson had never done a draft interview?
    • Jimmy Butler was considered the Landry Fields of the draft, because he was going to go in the late 30’s rather than 30?
    • Josh Harrelson was considered an afterthought after Kentucky lost in the Final 4? Instead, he out Zoubeked Brian Zoubek?
    • Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie were considered sure fire first rounders, and maybe even mid first rounders last year? Than, Trey took a body fat % test and Travis said he was hopefully going to be better than Tony Allen?
    • Milan Macvan tore up the Hoop Summit in 2009, leading the International team to victory? Than, in the following years, seemed almost undraftable?
    • It was Monday, and we were all blissfully unaware of the name Tanguy Ngombo? Than, we heard from DX and a bunch of posters on this site that he was a lock for 50 and going to be drafted by Minnesota because Pete Philo saw him tear it up in Qatar? Honestly people, would any of you had him going 57? ANSWER ME! Well, whatever, give yourselves 1 more imaginary point on your Mock Drafts for wanting to have him amongst the last 10 picks of the draft.
    • We thought Chukwudiebere Maduabum was a contagious and awful disease? Also, the only time we would see "Maduabum" on the back of a jersey might be in a porno?
    • Isaiah Thomas was going to be the next JJ Barea, but than the Kings had to take him with the final pick of the draft! Inconsiderate.

Well, just wanted to go over some highlights of the draft and of other controversies. Hopefully, this years draft taught us that we were spoiled last year with most of us nailing the first 8 picks. We need to be careful what rumors we trust, and know that anything can happen. Also, we should know that Mock Drafts NEVER tell us who the best players are going to be, and that players can and will be picked by being the best fit rather than the best player. Was a great draft, looking forward too 2012. Hope you all enjoyed it as well!

Actually the Knicks were very high on Shumpert. He, Vucevic, Faried and Markieff Morris were on top of their board. I agree with everything else you said though.

Yeah I’ve decided. From now one I will still do mock drafts just because they are so much fun but I won’t release them to the public because I get little responses back and the responses I do get back are basically idiotic ones like you were saying. (You never know, it could happen)

I told people on here take it with a grain of salt because many teams lie about who they want. Next year you will have more people on here who think the mock draft is what is gonna happen

But, I find very little usually gets done with the "Look at my Mock. Whatcha think?" type posts the seem to come in the monkey see monkey do months after the NCAA tournament is over. Definitely still do them, I know I will, but I think the best way to actually get info is by focusing more on prospects rather than Mock Drafts. If you know as much as possible about players, than maybe you can have a better idea of where you would see them going. I have seriously never seen a Mock critique that is probably actually that helpful, other than saying, "Well, that will never happen."

Year after year, our Mock Drafts are destroyed due to things we did not foresee. I think it is fine to have discussions over Mock Drafts, and maybe too compare Mock’s, but I think debate is probably better than just flat out comment. Than you atleast see the reasoning behind picks. But, when I see Mock Drafts early in the process, they are usually bad. Later on, most become more plausible. Still, if a guy in April had Tristan Thompson at #4, they probably would get a comment like "You are a moron" or "He is not even going to be in the draft!". Do not see how this is helpful to anyone, and usually just causes a bevy of annoying posts.

I dont know why so many people were shocked to see Joseph go in the 1st round..Earlier this season there were alot of sites that had him in the lottery…His style of play should fit right in with the Spurs..If he can improve his outside shooting,he’s going to be a steal….
