As much as I’d love to get Monta Ellis, there is one Warriors SG that I maybe prefer even more since we could possibly retain our core and still obtain their services…Brandon Rush.

Yes the leader in 3PT FG% at this point, on a team loaded with SG/SF, we could look to trade for him on the low.  He’d be a great fit.  So often I see the Wolves getting wide open 3s off of Rubio drive n kick outs and passes back out from Love.  The problem is Wes Johnson is typically shooting those shots and I’m sick of seeing all the misses.  I want a guy like Brandon Rush/Anthony Morrow/Steph Curry/Aaron Afflalo on the perimeter…a killer 3PT threat.

What do you think it would take to grab Rush?  I’m thinking the price isn’t too extravagant.

Package Tolliver in a deal back to GSW?

Afflalo would be such a great fit on the Timberwolves, but Rush is a similar sort of player who would be a nice fit. I wouldn’t want Morrow simply because of his terrible D, and Curry is undersized, so Rush is really the best fit at this stage. I hope they can get him as the Warriors invest more in Thompson.

The Curry and Morrow statement was just about lethal 3PT shooters.  I’d really like Afflalo or Rush though.  i think Rush would be pretty easily attainable.

Oh thank god you weren’t talking about the Ellis trade. I think this would make a hell of a lot more sense for the Wolves. It clears up room for Thompson to develop for the Warriors and gives the Wolves an actual viable option to shoot the 3 ball in the corner instead of Wes. Do you think it would be too out of the question to offer maybe Wes for Rush plus a (future or current year) first round pick? Wes could fill in for Dorrell Wright who hasn’t been having the best season and provides them with a much stronger bench that has lots of depth, scoring ability, and firepower.

If the Timberwolves could shoot, Rubio would be averaging like 13 APG. I would love Rush on this team.

My initial thought was, "did Mayo get traded to the Warriors??"

I do agree though, I think Rush would be a great fit for the Wolves, as well as all the snipers you mentioned.

As a Wolves fan, I can only imagine how many apg Rubio would average if we had guys who could shoot 38-45% from 3 instead of Wes Johnson and Martell Webster.

With that being said, I do think we are all undervaluing the value of another player who can create his own shot sometimes and break down defenses, and none of those top dog 3 point shooters do that very well. Having 1 player who everybody needs to get them shots is not good. Eventually defenses key on that style and offense bogs down. Catch and shoot guys are good, but too many of them creates a burden on 1 player to constantly have to create for the entire offense. There needs to be a balance.

How about Wes Johnson for Brandon Rush?
