circumlocution75Participant& he only played 19 min…. They are going to pace him as they have for the last 5 years (not making any excuses) or so & hopefully he”ll have some gas in the tank come playoff time…. But of course you guys are correct that "Father Time" will eventually get the best of him…. Where does the time go!?!?
Are there any guys on the site close to 40 or older? If so is it me or does it get tougher to see Great players diminish now that we are older? I remember Bird, Magic, Isaiah, Jordan & others get older but it did not affect me the way Kobe & Duncan slowing down have…. Anyone else feel the same way?

trueone313detroitParticipantYes im mid 30’s these guys are really showing there ages.. nowadays. But in there defense the game is so finesse now and run run run. Their ages work against them. Plus Kobe and Duncan have had major injuries and setbacks. And with the softer game plus zone you can’t just use the post game to work out when your are fatigued.
They are still our greats but it hurts to watch the torch past with our memories of them.0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/21/2015 - 2:20am #1025985

SlickBouncePassParticipantjust like watching MJ on the Wizards was painful. MJ was less of a chucker, so watching Kobe go about his chucking ways thinking he still has "it" is hard to watch.
Duncan is not a sad story. The guy was being called old five years ago and he is still winning championships, (should have beat Miami the first year). he’s a rock. Father time gets the best of everyone.
It is sad that soon the NBA stars of late ’90s players are retiring. Duncan, Garnett, Kobe, even Dirk, Paul Pierce…once they’re gone, the NBA of my youth is gone, and that connection to the era of when grown Men used to play the game will be gone.

I couldnt agree more man, Im mind is hard time understanding that Kobe is no longer elite. Sortof like a car crash, you look back on it and you ask yourself if that really happened. Obviously not only Kobe, but the entire crew like you mentioned.

ChoppyParticipantOk, I’ll put my hand up and say I thought Davis would take another step and become the MVP this year. Unless the Pels start winning some games, it definitely won’t happen. Injuries (both his and his teammates) and the absolutely insane play of Curry have diminished his chances. Would take a miracle from here.

SlickBouncePassParticipantbefore he did anything. Great players raise the game of their teammates. It may have bene the offense, but AD didn’t lift his teammates games at all during that palyoff series. I was looking forward to it and it wasn’t a contest and he did nothing to wow me in the playoffs. So thats why I didn’t get all the extra-hype. I was thinking "didn’t anyone see the playoffs last year".
I was his biggest fan when he got drafted and played in HS AS games. Just want to see that explosiveness and watch him take over games, give us a 60 point effort because we know he can do it….can’t he?

ChoppyParticipantI guess that’s what I expected, Davis to lift and make those around him better. Injuries to key teammates (like Tyreke) haven’t helped. Hopefully once the Pels are fully fit, the Davis I expected to see will emerge.

llperezthere was a play where tim was the man to rotate over after a double team and he was late and got dunked on hard. I hav enot seen the spurs play this year before tonight but tuining in and seeing him get beat so badly on defense made me wonder if his time is up.
