TC_42ParticipantWith all the people leading up to the start of the season saying that the Thunder and Durant were being overrated, I can’t believe nobody has jumped on this. They barely beat the Pistons on a last second shot, got blown out by the Jazz at home, and then got blown out by the Clips last night. If not for some ridiculous defense at the end of the Bulls game, they could have easily lost that one too. They’re only a few plays from being 0-4.
The biggest problem? Defense… aaand offense. For a team that prides itself on defense, they’re 22nd in the league in points allowed. They’re 29th in assists. Look that these shooting numbers so far on the season:
Durant: 35% fg / 26% from 3
Green: 41% / 15%
Harden: 17% / 10%
Sefolosha: 25% / 0% (0-6)
Krstic: 39%
Cook: 33% / 23%
Westbrook: 42% / 20%
Combined, that’s 36% from the field and 18% from 3. There’s no ball movement, they take bad shots, and they miss open shots. The only bright spot is Ibaka. Is it time for Thunder fans to panic at all?

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantLOL, it’s not time to panic. It’s 4 games into the season and they’re 2-2. Yes they’ve played worse than expected and worse than they are capable of but it’s still 4 games into the year! 4 games!

RUDEBOY_Participantyeah, Is this the team everyone said will challenge the Lakers??
I told yall they surprised alot of people last year….But this year coaches know what to expect…
but after only 4 or 5 games its good to see what a team needs to work on in order to get better…

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantSo this is what we have learned, the Thunder suck and the Warriors are great. Well, that explains first week of November basketball.
FWIW, the Thunder did play like a team that enjoyed their night in LA the day before the game. Teams really have to try to make the Clippers look that good.

TC_42ParticipantFor the record, I am a Thunder fan. I mean they suck compared to the #2 team in the west they were largely projected to be. And if you watch the games, they are playing really bad basketball right now. I think they started drinking their own kool-aid a little bit. Plus, it’s not like they’re having to integrate new players… it’s basically the same great-chemistry team.
And the Warriors have beaten the 0-4 Rockets and the 1-4 Clippers. Four games in, everyone is saying that John Wall is Jesus. I think it’s ok to praise the good, but I also think it’s ok to criticize the bad – and the Thunder have been bad.

HitsterParticipantNOH were hyped to be up with Dallas, Spurs, Lakers and Phoenix a couple of years ago and this year the Thunder were seen in many quarters to be the 2nd best team in the West only a season removed from a 23-59 season. The team has a very talented roster lead by Kevin Durant and if they are playing badly and still 2-2 then the signs are fairly good, I would still say that the Thunder if they play to their potential should be a 50 win team this season.

MelParticipantThe Thunder were overHYPED by the MEDIA because of their crush on Kevin Durant. He is a great player, but right now TODAY he is not better than Lebron or Kobe. One day he may be but not today.
They played the Lakers well in the playoffs but they dont have the pieces to go very far yet. Let their time come, because right now, they are not ready.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThey are playing really bad basketball but do you expect Durant to shoot this terrible clip all year?
No and when he heats up there is no defense that can stop him. He can hit 25 footers with 20 seconds left on the shot clock all day. Westbrook even missed a dunk last night. These things don’t usually happen and its good they are getting out of their system early in the season.

delfamParticipantDurant needs to learn to make his teammates better, when his shot isn’t falling you can’t just keep shooting, he needs to learn to pass and rack up double digit assists when he has an off night. Until that happens OKC will be stuck in neutral(and they get a legit C).

Mr. 19134ParticipantIbaka should be their starting center and I don’t want to hear he’s not a center, he long enough and strong enough. Plus go to nba.com and look at his player card, he’s listed as a center.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Thunder aren’t surprising teams anymore… They’re now the hunted.
They’ll get better though. Their offense has been a little stagnant and they’ve missed shots. Defensively, they’re not communicating.
