I’m rooting for the Wolves this coming year because I’m a fan of Al Jefferson, KLove, and Kurt Rambis. But I also think this might be the worst team in the league. As much as I like Love and Jefferson, they don’t compliment each other on the defensive end at all. Both play below the rim and are not particulary athletic. On the perimeter, there just is not enough offense imo. Flynn is a rookie, Sessions is solid but not spectacular. Same goes for Gomes. This team just does not have enough weapons on the perimiter.

I just read though that Jefferson has lost 31 lbs since last season. And Kurt has been saying how he plans on instituting the triangle offense, but with a lot more running involved. Rambis also pointed out that Love is the perfect type of big man for the trianlge.

So what do you expect from the Wolves next year?

there just seems to be holes at the 2-3. i cannot recall a team which is bad at both spots, and went far.

i agree about minnesota being one of the worst teams this year. they’re very young and have many holes to fill up.

Well, hopefully Sasha Pavlovic and Wayne Ellington along with Brewer can hold it down long enough.

This team just has too many holes and young players to be competitive on a consistent basis as of right now. I agree that Al Jefferson and Kevin Love don’t compliment each other well, BUT they’ll both play hard and bring it every night. I have mad respect for the way Love plays. He’s one of the best rebounders that I’ve seen in a long time. I also think Kurt Rambis will be a very good coach for this young team. He’s patient and ready to teach.

They won’t be very good this year, but they’re in rebuilding mode. This is a learning year. I think they’ll be competitive in the next two-three seasons as they add players from the draft lottery, via trade and free-agency.

I really wish they would have went Ricky Rubio-Stephen Curry combo in the draft. Not two PG’s…Sucks man, ruined our chance to see Rubio. I really think that’s why he didn’t come now…because Flynn is there. It would also help with selling their merchandise. I know I would’ve purchased a few Rubio Things, Bobblehead, Jersey, T-Shirt. etc.

I expect them to be alot better than people are expecting…but im not saying playoffs

I like Flynn, im a huge fan of Flynn
I think Sessions is legit…think he’ll be solid
I think Wayne got overshadowed at UNC, and is a legit NBA SG
And who doesnt like Al Jefferson and Kevin Love….i like them both, but not so much together

They have the potential to do alot, gotta see how it all gets put together though

    Dajuan Summers/Derrick Brown

these guys have standout size and defense
have been just what Western Conference needs “big power 3s” as Dumars calls it

i think summers especially will be a steal
    (6’8 235 lbs O.o)
    Respectfully agree or disagree?

I think from a talent standpoint that this is easily the worst team in the league. Doesn’t mean that they will finish last, but I would think they would have to be bottom three. I’m not sure how they are going to run though. They are the least athletic team in the league, which was why I thought they were a horrible fit for a playmaker like Rubio who would look that much better with athletes surrounding him. Johnny Flynn would be running a one man fast break all by himself.

On another note, I am really surprised that a team like this didn’t take a look at McCants. Is he that much of a nutcase that he’s not worth the hassle despite his talent? By the way, I’m sure everyone knows Lamar Odom got married…now if I remember correctly McCants was dating her not long ago…Seems like the women in her family have a thing for big time athletes (i.e., Reggie Bush, Bruce Jenner, Odom).

but wolves initially wanted Rubio and trade Flynn IMO

i say Dajuan Summers (sf-pf) would be better than Brewer/Wilkins/Gomes
standout athlete in an uptempo system

    agree or no?

Didn’t Rambis hire Lambieer and Mahorn as assistants? If that’s the case Love and Jefferson could benefit from those two below the rim big men. Hopefully without the bad fouls, lol, but the Wolves may be pretty bad this year, but I think they are headed in the right direction. They have good young talent, and Rambis is a good coach ( he got to balance Shaq and Kobe’s egos his first time around, not many first time coaches could do that) hopefully they can get something good for Rubio and make the most of their pick in 10

The only thing I see bad for them is defense because they have enough shooters to help there great inside game but they are young and they lack a strong defensive prescence. Wayne Ellington may prove to be a solid player

the thing is theyre in rebuilding mode…but are they rebuilding with the right players….Love is ok, but trading him for Mayo was inexcusable….I love Johnny Flynn, have no idea what kind of pro he would be…Jefferson is a stud…Other than that, alot of question marks….Sessions is good but how many fucking PGs is Rambis trying to get

Don’t get me started on McFail. Sometimes I wondered if he was actually trying to be terrible. Can sucking that bad really be an accident? If I were going to write up a list of his McFailures though, the pass-the-Mayo, spread-the-Love trade wouldn’t head the list. I mean we’re talking about a guy who drafted the ROY and traded him, who gave up a First Round Pick for MARKO JARIC!?!? Who failed to get any talent to play with KG year after year… oh and let’s not forget drafting and trading Ray Allen, and that his Joe Smith bull cost the Wolves three first rounders. Just about everything that guy ever touched turned into a McFail burger with cheese. Sorry, I kinda went off a little there. Maybe I’ll come back and answer the original question after I calm down a bit.

Yes McHale, screwed up our team big time… I am glad he is gone finally!!! It appears that Kahn is trying to point the team in right direction and fix the mistakes made by Mcfail..
I was pissed when they traded Ray Allen for Marbury who is a nutcase. I couldn’t believe we traded Roy .. I saw a bunch of his college games and I had a feeling we would be good in the NBA.
I ‘m still not sure about the Love-Mayo deal yet. I haven’t seen enough of Mayo yet to make a decision either way.
I believe we still owe the Clippers a draft pick for Jaric… what a bad move there!
The Joe Smith ordeal really blows.. but then again, my friends’ brother ( Joel Przybilla) plays in the NBA and says that sort of stuff happens all the time.. the wolves just happened to get caught.
Your also forgetting about some of the terrible picks McHale made while GM… for example he chose Ndubi Ebi over Josh Howard.. C’mon!!
But enought about McFail!!! As a wolves fan I regret to say that they will be having another high lottery pick again next year.. I hope I am wrong about this.. we’ll see..
I guess it might be a good thing that less T-wolf games will be televised this year.

And don’t forget trading Brandon Roy for Randy FOye on draft night. Something that goes undiscussed though is that the league actually probably did the Wolves a favor when they took those picks away for the Joe Smith fiasco. The Wolves were about to give Smith like 88 million and the league broke it up. SO what would have been worse, Smith who was no where near an all star player at that point making 80 million or losing draft picks?

I haven’t forgotten. How cool would it be if the formerly big Al and Roy were teammates?

Yeah. Even when he tried to make McFail moves he McFailed at them. McFailburger with cheese.
I just read an article from our shady past, and apparently it was worse than I remembered. Stern fined the Wolves $3.5mil and 5 first rounders. Our intention was apparently to sign Joe Smith for 7 years and $86 mil. If anyone out there is wondering why Wolves fans are so happy about Kahn, allow me to present exhibit A.

7 years for $86. You can’t be serious?!? For a guy that averaged 10 and 6 off the bench?!? So what years would his contract have ran through? I don’t remember. Plus I want to see what numbers he put up during that time. The biggest insult in my opinion is that they signed Smith a couple years later. Were the fans not outraged by this in Minnesota? I think two of the 5 picks were returned.

Doesn’t matter what they did in the past. This is a new team and new GM who’s in the right direction. Yes, those were messed up moves in the past that could of made the wolves a good team. I see that their in the right directions. They’ll be a lot better than what everyone here thinks because their expectations are so low there is no where to go but up. Hollins was a great pick up for the Wolves along with Session. They’re going to be more interesting to watch this year than last year. That’s one thing for sure. Plus Jefferson has a true PG in Flynn to make his game so much easier. Flynn is a big time player who’s ready to step up to the challenge. He won’t be giving Jefferson the ball on every possesion like they did last year and watch him put up shots on triple teams.
