 How come I don’t see him mocked here more? I think SG is a weak position in the NBA today, so much so, I think you can get away with an average one. The Wizards have three "valuable" players right now: John Wall, Nene, and Rashard Lewis (22 mil EXP contract). With Singleton locked in at SF, why not take Thomas Robinson, who can actually complement Nene in the front court? 

Robinson has come on as of late, and had some very respectable combine numbers (35 inch vert, same as Blake Griffin according to Chad Ford), he’s from the area, and he’s also a humble dude. I think the Wizards could use a good player with a solid background. I think Robinson checks positive in both departments. So why not Robinson at #3, and either get a SG in free agency, and/or in round 2?

 The Wizards have a loaded frontcourt, actually.  Jan Vesely (#6 overall pick, 2011 NBA Draft) was originally thought of as a small forward because he was so athletic, but in all reality, he is truly just a tall, athletic power forward.  

The Wizards also have two other young power forwards in Kevin Seraphin and Trevor Booker who both played well off of the bench, and filled in nicely as starters whenever Nene was out injured and Andray Blatche was ineffective.  

Realistically, the Wizards have 3 young, potential power forwards, so it seems kind of useless to add another one here.  

My best bet would either be Brad Beal or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.  The Wiz definitely need a shooting guard, so they can move Jordan Crawford to the 6th man role, and bring him off of the bench for some instant offense.  

They already have a young small forward in Chris Singleton, but you cannot deny Kidd-Gilchrist’s potential on both sides of the ball.  If he adds a perimeter jump shot, watch out.

I don’t think Vesely is a power forward at all. I think he’s an athlete more than anything. I think he’s also more of a bench player. He didn’t stand out at all when I saw him, other then his rebounding ability. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was more of a Jonas Jerekbo type combo forward off the bench. Again, Booker and Seraphin are more bench players to me. I like both, but neither are "This position is locked" guys. 

MKG doesn’t fit to me because that jumper. I like him more to Charlotte at #2 because he will get the time to develop. I like Robinson as a right away 16-8 type guy because of his skills, athleticism, and the fact Nene can flank him.

 Not to mention…the Wizards have Jordan Crawford, who’s also a young player. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Washington went with a slightly more experienced player in a trade or free agency at the SG spot. Someone like Kevin Martin, I think.

chris singleton is NOT locked in at the 3… he actually was really bad this year shooting just 37% from the field and had a PER of 8.34 (really low)

 Wizards have a log jam at PF, Seraphin, Booker, and Vesely are all those hustle type tough big men much like Robinson. Singleton even plays some 4. Robinson is better than all of them but doesn’t make much sense to draft another guy with a similar skill set.

Everyone seems to agree that the Wiz have a logjam at PF and that Robinson is still better than all of them.  I’ve been sticking to that line this whole time, in DC everyone wants Bradley Beal because we need a shooter which is true.  But Beal does not excite and frankly Robinson has tons more ability at his position, where we also need top level rebounding.  I really hope my squad doesn’t reach for a need, take the best available player at this point as long as it’s not a PG.
