the 3 point shooutout looks interesting this year, although i feel Anthony Morrow should really have been selected to join the contest (him vs ray ray would be something to watch). Anyone’s opinions?

Paul Pierce??????WTF???? How did he deserve to be in it. He’s a good 3 point shooter but his numbers aren’t amazing and there are a few other players waaaay more deserving to make it. Plus I don’t like having two people from the same team unless they are both putting up insane numbers which Pierce is not. Also just like the dunk contest there should be more contestants. Like 6 thats it? There should be atleast 8, and 6 in the dunk.

I don’t think its necesarilly a matter of Pierce being more deserving than those guys. You have to realize that they don’t just get their pick any player in the league, a lot of these guys simply don’t want to be apart of this stuff. Example: Raef Lafrents (spelling?) being in the 3 point shoot-out years ago….IMO Pierce has done enough to deserve a spot any year, he always seems to have a good showing in it anyway. However if you are suggesting that the David Stern and the NBA are both in love with he Celtics, than I would have to agree with you.

pierce, as was already pointed out, is there to defend his title whcih the nba does every year. Heck craig hodges was invited to defend his title and he wasnt even in the nba.

I’m really glad that Ray Allen made it in, this is shaping up to be one of the best contests I’ve seen in years. I think Morrow should be in over Gibson, but they had to throw the Cavs a bone I guess.
