TRC1991ParticipantI just wanted to make a few comments.
1) Andris Biedrins is horrible. No, this isn’t shocking news or anything but I just feel so bad for Warriors fans mainly because management attempted to cover this issue up by drafting Udoh and even Jeremy Tyler to an extent and neither have done much, and they also signed Kwame Brown only to lose him to injury. But Biedrins used to be somewhat formidable which is surprising because now he is useless. The Warriors getting their hands on a long-term center is something I’ve wished to see for a long time.
2) Speaking of the Warriors- shout out to Monta Ellis, one of my favorite players. Super gifted scorer and incredibly talented. Love his personality too, just goes about his business, quiet guy, doesn’t get caught up in the hype. Would thoroughly enjoy seeing him get to the all-star game one of these years.
3) I called it before the season started that Charlotte would be the worst team in the league. They simply cant put points on the board. Now I know that they’ve battled a brutal amount of injuries this year, but when your starting frontcourt consists of Bismack Biyombo (3.3 ppg), Tyrus Thomas (7.2 ppg) and Boris fatboy Diaw (8.3 ppg) it is hard to win games. They rank 29th in scoring and rebounding and this team simply cant compete when they cant score more than 87 points per game.
4) Jeremy Lin is injecting new energy into the Knicks. Unfortunately, the 2 best players on that team look like they dont want to be a part of the team. Imagine a Knicks team consisting of Tyson Chandler, Wilson Chandler, Galinari, Felton, Amare, Fields, Lin, Baron Davis, Iman Shumpert and Bill Walker… It hurts to see what could have been.
5) LaMarcus Aldridge is not to be messed with. The guy is playing lights out. It’s a shame Crash Wallace, Ray Felton, Crawford, and Matthews have all seemingly regressed as the season has progressed. Matthews looks sluggish and has began chucking a little too consistently for my liking, Felton looks bad, Crawfords not shooting efficiently, and Wallace is inconsistent offensively. They lack a closer. Aldridge cant do it all.
6) I hate the Bucks and Scott Skiles. I feel for their fans because Skiles has almost no idea what he’s doing. He’s so obsessed with the thought of playing good defense that he’s completely forgotten about offense. When you’re starting Livingston, Delfino and Mbah A Moute at the same time, you have three guys who are below average scorers. Sure, they make good defenders, but this Bucks team without Bogut cant score the ball. He has an unhappy Stephen Jackson, a seemingly rejuvenated Mike Dunleavy, a promising Tobias Harris, a multi-dimentional Jon Leuer, and a solid backup in Beno Udrih all on the bench so he has the talent he’s just using it incorrectly. In my opinion, Mbah A Moute and Delfino should have their minutes given to better offensive talents in order to keep this team afloat. When Jennings isn’t hitting, Drew Gooden’s been shouldering a lot of the scoring.
7) I like Indiana, I think they’re gritty, tough, hungry and have a great mix of vets and young pieces. Look out for this team, they don’t back down.
8) I watched the Nuggets play the other day, and they definitely dont have a go-to scorer. With Danilo hurting his ankle, Im actually a tad bit worried because they have no elite scorers on this team even when Gallo is healthy and now it’s even more of a concern. They’ll simply rely on a bevy of decent scorers to fill the bucket but look for this team to slump a little bit.
9) Onto the college scene briefly, I want to give some props to Ricardo Ratliffe. I’ve watched him play a few times this year and he’s damn good. Big body, strong, very gifted, shoots extremely efficiently, he plays well against good players and even had a huge 27 point outing the other day in the win against PJ3 and Baylor.
10) Watched Patric Young yesterday against Florida, I understand he was up against a terrific shotblocker in Anthony Davis but this kid is a ways away from contributing at the next level. Still raw, needs to work on his post game, needs to develop a consistent J.
11) Imagine how good Missouri would be if Laurence Bowers didnt get hurt.
12) Coach on the hot seat: UCLA’s Ben Howland
13) Top replacement possibility for Jim Calhoun: Gonzaga’s Mark Few. Can recruit, is still somewhat young, has killed it at Gonzaga, and who wouldn’t want a presitigious job like UCONN’s? This is coming out of no-where by the way, I’m just assuming coach Calhoun’s health wont hold up and this will be his last year.
just my 13 cents.

Ghost01ParticipantGood stuff, I feel ya on Monta. It would be aweesome to see him play on a halfway decent team. He is an elite scorer where ever he goes, and he can make up for his shotty defense with his stealing abilities.

B FreeParticipantI like it, the one that annoys me most is Patric Young. Imagine if Ben Wallace didn’t play defense, thats him.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI really don’t know if the Knicks would have picked up Lin if they still had Felton

Moon RiverParticipantAgree 100%. He has worn out his welcome (again) and will be shown the door (again). Maybe the Bucks fire him on Valentine’s Day like when the Bulls fired him on Christmas Eve. Nice work Chicago.

Maniac MaciejParticipantLet’s be honest, that Bucks team is horrible. Jon Leuer, Tobias Harris, Stephen Jackson, Beno Udrih and Mike Dunleavy are not the answers to anyone’s prayers, and if your two best players are Brandon Jennings and Drew Gooden, you should have scouts following Anthony Davis extensively. If anything, they need to fire Skiles so the team starts tanking for a better shot in the lottery.
Monta Ellis is a poor man’s version of Gilbert Arenas in his prime. He’d be a great fit as a 6th man/scoring option off the bench…kinda like the old Ben Gordon.
