Warriors To Sit Down With Jackson
    More Warriors News
Warriors Want Fair Value For Jackson

    Oct 12, 2009 7:38 AM EST
The Warriors plan to meet with disgruntled forward Stephen Jackson prior to their first preseason game at home.

Jackson is expected to meet with Golden State general manager Larry Riley and coach Don Nelson before the team’s practice on Tuesday. He missed the team’s last two preseason games because of a team-imposed suspension.

He had a blowup on the sideline with Nelson on Friday night in Los Angeles, which led to the suspension.

The Warriors, according to sources, remain open to trading Jackson if they can find a reasonable deal.

Bynum Could Take Minutes From Odom

    Oct 12, 2009 5:23 PM EST
If Andrew Bynum is both healthy and productive this season, he could conceivably take minutes away from Lamar Odom.

Heading into the season, Odom says that he’s content with his role as Lakers’ sixth man, but no one can predict how he might react if his minutes are reduced.

Even though Odom was the first man off the bench for Los Angeles at times last season, he was on the court late in the fourth quarter of close games.

If Bynum proves himself worthy of remaining on the court in crunch time, Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register writes that Phil Jackson could have an issue on his hands.

    Szczerbiak Looking For Guaranteed Contract

    Oct 12, 2009 5:39 PM EST
Free agent forward Wally Szczerbiak is still looking for a guaranteed contract.

Szczerbiak, who earned $13 million with the Cavaliers last season, may have to wait until the season begins to find a home.

He has lost a step or two after ankle surgery, according to the Boston Globe.

Mavericks Looking To Deal Shawne Williams

    Oct 12, 2009 5:31 PM EST
Shawne Williams is no longer with the Mavericks even though he is still under contract.

Dallas told Williams that he is no longer welcome around the team, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Williams, who is in the final year of his rookie contract, could be packaged in a trade by the Mavericks.
