justincParticipantdoes anybody have a solution for the warriors to become a playoff contending team in the next year? draft picks, trades, fa signs, what would you guys do if you were GM. be real, lets not say steph curry for marc gasol and we’d be good.

4th dimensionLOL I just made a thread about it. Marc Gasol for Stephen Curry is exactly what the Warriors need to do. Or maybe even Monta Ellis for Al Horford.

RodBeamteamParticipant^^^We know thats why he put (be real).
Marc Gasol for Stephen Curry not likely kiid.

justincParticipantno, not at all, trading monta is worst than trading curry. either way we’d be left without a 1 or 2. both of them work great together iono why u would trade them, if anything trade curry and beans for marc and mayo? maybe through a 1st pick with that. but why would we take horford for monta or just gasol for curry, when monta is our core, and curry is a great player.

nateoak10ParticipantGet a really good low post defender and a bench. They have a good starting lineup outside of the center spot . If Andris was a backup for say Perkins for example it’s work fine with him but that is not the case. Also the bench is the worst in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/30/2011 - 9:26pm #480952
nateoak10ParticipantAnd probably not Gasol
Our issue is that we have a lot of really good 2nd guys. But no big star. If you put Dwight on this team your talking about a title contender. Or LBJ for example. We have all the pieces to compliment a superstar, yet we have no superstar

justincParticipantbut we wont get these big stars, we already know. i could see our team being a team with plenty of talent to fill a bench with everyone doing their part with one star being monta. maybe move dorrell to the 6th man position, i could see him fitting that role very well next season. maybe draft a nice athletic and long swingman that can play 2 or 3 and maybe start him, kind of like the opposite offense of wright being a shooter. then we have ekpe play the back up 4, trade beans for iono who we can get, gadzuric bell and im not sure who else is on an expiring contract, then who would u try to pick up in the off season, or draft? if we had a lottery pick around 10 which sounds reasonable for our record. we would still need a solid backup pg sf i guess reg is our 2 and ekpe at backup 4. but we need a better center and backup center.

shannon92ParticipantI think they need a defencive stopper for the 2 – 3 possy , maybe pietrus ?
and a 7 footer who can play D in the middle
curry ellis wright and lee are nice to start with and udoh is nice off the bench

nateoak10ParticipantBut he’s a watered down Wright, off the bench someone like Afflolo who is a FA would be perfect. Perkins would be a great center for us or Tyson Chandler
Justin – write cleaner please, but I see us grabbing a center in free agency and us dumping Andris. I see us going after Afflolo to no result though

shannon92ParticipantIf nene became a warrior i would be excited

TRC1991Participantthe warriors need defenders on the wing and some size off the bench
look at their wing defenders:
monta
curry
radmanovic
d.wright
williams
b.wright
not one of those guys is decent on defense

mj23mj23besteverParticipantimo they arent gonna trade either curry or monta and why would they unless its a blockbuster for a super star player they need to go after a big who can play d like perkins in fa hed be the perfect def big for the ws

RickyRubio9ParticipantYao Ming, Terrence Williams, Jordan Hill, and Aaron Brooks
for
Steph Curry..
Hah! I really want Monta on the Rockets though..but then you’d have to switch Brooks for Martin

morestealsthanscoresParticipantmy first thoughts- no frontcourt and no backcourt defensively, because they’re just too small at the guard spots. so have to trade curry or ellis, and i;m going with curry- better defensively, less selfish, and in the modern NBA, you need a pure PG, and curry is one who shoots the ball very well.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=5tt5fd8
so this is the trade i came up with…
to confirm, i did not spend too long on this and draft picks and cash would have to be thrown around to make things work.
but it would make golden state bigger, replace their go-to scorer with granger, who is a similar 25+ppg scorer but lacks the defensive deficiency. iggy will step up their perimeter defense, whilst thabeet and jones make them slightly deeper.
philly gets a centre whilst opening the door for evan turner to develop- they also get reggie williams as a sweetener, or they can let him come off their books.
memphis get ekpe udoh, and get to admit that thabeet is a bust, getting cap room instead. most probably would need a #1 as well.
indiana gets help at the two positions they’re weak, SG and PF, with the option to let brandan wright go for cap relief. it also opens the door for paul george to start at the 3- i still think he’ll be a serious player. again, may need a #1 to sweeten.
Golden State:
Curry/Lin/Law
Iguadala/Jones/Bell
Granger/Wright/Radmanovic
Lee/Amundson
Gasol/Thabeet
golden state is suddenly more balanced, with a 2 and 3 that can defend, and a shotblocker inside. wright and amundson would play big minutes off the bench. sorted.

BigDParticipant@morestealsthenscores
Dude are you serious?? That is nearly as bad as a DNYCE trade.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 11:24am #481154

justincParticipantour bench would still lack besides dorrell being on it. law bell radmad lou and hasheem arent very good.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

JJeff6ParticipantCan david Lee play center? if so then id say go out and get David West cuz he is a FA next year. Biedrins is overated he gets rebounds but that is a bout it. Good frontcourt of West and Lee to sollidify a good backcourt of Monta and Steph. Grant Hill a good FA aquisition too.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 4:32pm #481354

justincParticipantlee is 6’9 with no post defense to handle guys over 6’11 that can out length him. he barely helps our rebound totals get better, and he does not block shots, hes no center imo. so we would have to keep him at pf.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 4:37pm #481357

MinnesotanoParticipantCorey Brewer is going to be a FA this year, offer him a contract.. I hate him, but he is a really good defensive player, coming from the bench will help a lot.
And if u still hace some salary cap, offer a short term contract to Greg Oden, you never know… could make a huge impact // but at the same time there is always the risk of see him injury all year.
