OhCanada-ParticipantJust remember I said it. Williams is more proven, and Kyrie is more…hyped. But Kanter is the best. Everyone knows it deep down inside too.

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantim intrigued of how good his jumpshot is,there really is nothing more than the Hoop Summit, a post skill video, mix of young Kanter that ive seen of him.

mikeyvthedonParticipantOn my big board, but what is your beef with Kyrie Irving? Personally, if you are a Raptors fan (which, I believe you are), you should be happy as hell if they draft Kyrie. He is the real deal my friend, incredibly smart player and while his injury may have limited his game intake, Kanter was in the same boat playing 0 games this year. Irving is an incredibly smart player, very creative and seems to have what it takes to be an excellent lead guard. To me, he is the closest thing in this draft to a can’t miss player.
I think Kanter has a fantastic skill set, not to mention he is strong as anything, but he also has yet to play against hardcore competition in a game situation. All we have to go off are games he has played over a year ago and mumblings from Kentucky practices. Also, it is yet to be seen if he will be less of a defensive liability than other slow footed big guys, his athleticism is not exactly out of this world. I think highly enough of Kanter to rate him ahead of Derrick Williams, but I think it is a slim margin. Definitely has questions that would have been better answered had he played some competitive basketball this year. Just wonder why Kyrie is over hyped in your opinion? You certainly make bold statements, but you should maybe try and back them up a little more than you seem too.

OhCanada-ParticipantOh and I would be happy with Kyrie. I would be extremely happy. It would be extremely hard to find a better PG in the world to compliment the projected style of the Toronto Raptors system. He is a better fit then Derrick Rose, Better fit then Westbrook, and many other elite PG’s. I have little doubt he would become a Top 10 PG if drafted by Toronto. Kanter will be better then him though.
I would rather Toronto select Irving because of all the available Centers coming up, and Bargnani, Calderon, Barbosa on the block. I still think he is overrated and is a system basketball player who relies on fundimentals more then skill, great fundimentals at that. Derrick Williams is a better player at this point, and Kanter is the best player in the draft. If Im wrong in two years gimme shiit about it but as of right now noones right.

BKKnicksfanParticipantI was hyping up Kanter before he even got to the states. I think he’s going to be a great player, questions on defense, but overall a great player.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI’ll save any criticism or praise I have on Kanter until he proves he’s worth the top pick in workouts. Right now he is definitely a top 5 pick, but he’s in the bottom of the top 5. (like 4 or 5 to me)
A year ago, I would have said no doubt the best player in this draft, but now after a year of not being able to play after being ruled ineligible, who knows how raw or unprepared he might be. That’s why he is not better than Irving or Williams, at least not yet. Everything might change with workouts.

ilike.panochasParticipantYou have never even seen an entire college season from Kanter, how could you say he is CLEARLY the best player. And if your basing it on upside, he doesn’t have more upside than Vasely. Kanter to me is a little mystery and a gamble to be chosen in top 3.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/25/2011 - 3:12pm #525144

OhCanada-ParticipantIl say it twice and you guys can give me more negs, Kanter will be the best player historicaly that comes out of this draft "unless" his knees are shot.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/25/2011 - 3:31pm #525154

Tha_PrinceParticipantAre you Jason Kidd-ing me?
How many times have you seen him play? Exactly. So are you just going on a gut feeling here? Williams, Kyrie and basically every other player in the lottery are more proven than Enes. The man hasn’t even played one college game!
In europe he only played 8 MPG as well so I think your crazy for saying this man.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantthat video is way old bro and his knee is a big concern. Plus dude, when have u seen a guy sit out a whole year, not injury wise and come in and set the league on fire. I think he could be really good but I don’t think he’ll ever make an All Star team
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/25/2011 - 5:16pm #525193

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont know about Kanter but if now for his knee issue, people were very high on him but I dont think he has the upside of some of the other players but it does make sense that he is a player that comes in immediately and plays really well.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/25/2011 - 5:25pm #525197

OhCanada-ParticipantNot a completely gut feeling…Just knowing how skileld he is and projecting him as a Center. Kyrie isnt good enough to pass up a Center of his talent level for me. Teams dont win without Centers, and nowadays going forward it is good to get legit Centers on your team. Its nice to develop them and teams invest alot of attention in developing Centers. Part of it is a gut feeling I guess but so what, everything within this draft is a gut feeling. Kyrie is still a frickin gut feeling to an extent. JV is a gut feeling, hoping Motiejunas developing strength is a praying, Niyambo is all gut, and so many others.
I like how everyone jumps on me for saying Kanter is the best player in this draft. Yet Biyambo fans are aloud to parade around here saying he is the next Dwight Howard, and Ben Wallace, and bs…I dont care about the negatives as much as I do the negative responses, all I am saying is how can you realy jump on me for saying Kanter is going to be better then Irving in my opinion? Is Irving really that good that Kanter cant be better but Biyambo can. Is Kanter not that good, did all those skills he developed just dissapear?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/25/2011 - 5:51pm #525200

Tha_PrinceParticipantFirst of Kanter is not a C, in your video he even says he prefers the forward spot. I think he’s a true PF.
I don’t believe he should be the top pick cause yes this is a weak draft, but your saying the best player in this draft is someone who has no college experience? Sounds a bit rediculous man. I’m not jumping on ya here but saying Kanter is the best player in this draft is crazy. Especially considering a majority of us have only seen his numbers in the hoop summit and automatically jumped on his bandwagon.
Kyrie & DWill are going to have much better rookie seasons based on that there in game shape and there experienced at a high level (Kanter only played 8MPG in europe).

Hi its BenParticipantSo, OhCanada, if you’re gonna walk the walk, then talk the talk. Put him number 1 overall on your mock if you really feel that way.
And if (and that’s a big if) he ends up being as good as you say he is, we will all know that you saw it coming.

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipanti honestly dont get how that was a bad question, he is rated a 9 at shooting so was Kosta Koufos who was compared to Okur, so is Kanter Carlos Boozer with Okur shooting, then Canada may be right about him being the best in the draft.
