r377ParticipantWhich colleges have produced the best players ?
Lets put every player at the very peak of their professional career’s. In a 7 game playoff series, going head to head, which college team would come out on top ?
You have to make each player from today. For example you cannot live in dreamland and say Kentucky would win it all because Davis, Towns, MKG and Booker are all going to the hall of fame or Duke would win it all because Irving, Parker and Okafor are all going to the hall of fame and Kyrie will play 75+games each season for the next 10 years….It has to be from today, with what each player has done in their career’s so far.
I have tried to cap each team at the NBA rule of 13 in each team. Starters 2 x G and 3 x PF/C, but you can chop and change if you like.
Please discuss – strengths, weaknesses of each team. Team chemistry, key matchups you would like to see etc.
List your top 10 all-time college teams ? Maybe your Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight or Final Four…. There are no wrong or right answers

r377Participant1. North Carolina – They have the GOAT. Their bench is the strongest with Kenny Smith/Walter Berry, Stackhouse, Worthy, Jamison and Sheed. They could even put Smith or Berry in the first unit and move Vince Carter to the bench…
I am not really sure who I put at no2. Kentucky are still young, they will likely be no2 in the next 5 years or so if they can stay healthy. Final 4
UCLA would be fun to watch, you would have Westbrook handling the ball with Reggie Miller, Kiki and Kevin Love behind the arc and having Kareem in the post. Decent bench also. I think I have this team in my Final 4.
Georgetown have 3 of the best defensive bigs. I would start my team Sleepy Floyd, Jeff Green, Otto Porter, Mourning and Ewing with the second unit Iverson (for scoring), Wingate, Reggie Williams, Monroe and Mutombo. Elite 8
Duke despite being so successful don’t really have any hall of famers like most of the other teams. Like Kentucky still have young players on their roster. Likely Final 4 in the next few years. Would be at least Elite 8 today, possibly Final 4
UConn only have Ray Allen as HOF but are solid throughout. I would start Kemba, Ray Allen, Caron Butler, Rudy Gay and Drummond with the bench Ben Gordon, Rip Hamilton, Donyell Marshall, Cliff Robinson, Emeka Okafor. This team is solid and would have good chemistry. Elite 8.
LSU would be good to watch with Pistol Pete, Pettit and Shaq on the same team. If Simmons if as good as advertised this would be fun to watch. Bench sucks though
Michigan State would be nice to see Magic on the same team as Draymond Green and Zac Randolph. They just have too many guards and not enough bigs to really compete with some of the other teams. Eg. Georgetown and UConn
Arizona have quite a solid team but lack quality big men. Aaron Gordon and Stanley Johnson are young, but could push them up a couple of spots in the next few years.
Ohio State vs Indiana – very close not sure who I would have win that one ?
Kansas good starting unit, bench is a bit below average I would say.
Florida could surprise. No real big name players but very solid team. Would be bombing 3’s from their bench. Vernon Maxwell, Mike Miller and Matt Bonner.
Memphis would struggle for chemistry with Rose, Penny and Tyreke Evans all needing the ball in their hands. All have injury concerns also.
I would have North Carolina winning it, with UCLA and Kentucky making the Final 4. I am torn between UCLA and Kentucky, at this stage I have UCLA just getting through. Kentucky will likely improve to no2 as their youngsters establish themselves. I have Georgetown, Duke and UConn all vying for the Final 4 spot.
Elite 8 Georgetown with the defensive centres, Duke and UConn would be my Elite 8. The other 2 teams I just don’t know….

ZachAttackParticipantI think that the final 4 would be North Carolina, UCLA, Texas, and Kentucky.
A couple of sleepers that would be really good is LSU, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech.
Semi Finals
1. North Carolina vs. 4. Kentucky
2. UCLA vs. 3. Texas
Michael Jordan and Bob McAdoo against John Wall and Anthony Davis would be really fun to watch… North Carolina squeaks bye thanks to some heroics by MJ.
Westbrook vs. Durant would be great to see as well as Lamarcus Aldridge vs. Kevin Love. UCLA has the edge and wins this one.
North Carolina vs. UCLA
MJ vs Westbrook would be really entertaining to watch. Kevin Love against McAdoo. With Vince Carter in there it’d be a major dunkfest. I think UCLA comes out on top with this one though. Westbrook, Love, Lavine, and Miller popping threes out there all day. It’s just too much for MJ and North Carolina.
Shoutout to OP, this was really fun and I enjoyed playing the game.

ZachAttackParticipantyep, you are missing something… I was going by matchups that I wanted to see… Not by how good these teams are.

D7H7NParticipantUCLA has Kareem, Walton, and Reggie Miller. There’s no way that team doesn’t destroy everyone else. Oh yeah, Westbrook at PG too I guess.

giddyup123ParticipantWashington – Isaiah Thomas, Brandon Roy, Quincy Pondexter, Spencer Hawes, Detlef Schremp / Nate Robinson, Tony Wroten, Terrence Ross, Steve Hawes, James Edwards, CJ Wilcox, Bob Houbregs, John Brockman
They’re better than some of the teams you listed above, especially going small. On a side note, imagine if B-Roy stayed healthy… we’d probably not be having the debate about the best shooting guard in the league being Harden vs. Thompson, Trail Blazers would be a perennial contender, damn.. I know coulda/woulda/shoulda but a man can dream
