I’m new to the forums here and I’m trying to get some feedback/get some good conversations going about the mock lottery I just published on my site. Take a look if you want, and I’d love to engage if anyone is looking to talk some draft.

 Just a little advice.  Your first post on a site’s forums probably shouldn’t be plugging your own blog/site.  Not that it is against the rules, just not going to get you any kudos.

Join the conversation a little more, gain some traction as a forum poster and then you can start plugging your own content.

 I see your point, you’re right. I’m not trying to step on any toes here, my only intention is to get a feel for how my posts are being received.

I know you weren’t trying to step on toes and I enjoy reading others’ content.  There are some forum members that I’ve been reading their stuff on for years.  It just looks a little bad when your one and only post is your own stuff.  Kind of gives off the impression that you created a log in just to get your own views.

Aside from the work I do for this site, I have my own personal blog as well and if it is NBA/NBA Draft related I’ll post on here from time to time to see what other thoughts are so I know what you were trying to do.

As a side note, I read your blog and while I don’t agree with everything in there, it was a good read.  Keep up the good work and I hope that you’ll become an active forum member.  There are a lot of good opinions on this site and a lot of worthwhile content to help you get through your day at work (or at least it has helped me for years…lol).

I just started up my blog again, and I am hoping to become a more active participant in NBA forums across the web. Thanks for the encouragement. Obviously I want to get more traffic on my site, but it’s more important to me that readers think highly of the content. I write the articles I want to write, and that means it’s not always easy to get reads.

 

If I may, what specifically do you disagree with? Obviously with a post this size everyone can find something they don’t think is right, are there a few things in particular you’d be willing to share?
