Knicksboy34ParticipantI’m a Knicks fan, we all know that. But since people are talking about the Knicks, Allen Iverson is considered in joining the Knicks and in my opinion, he can return to being “The Answer”
Last season, he averaged 17.5ppg last season and he went to a system that was not for him. If he were to come to a up-tempo system like NY, Iverson can average around 20 to 25 points per game and maybe 6 to 8 assists. I think if the Knicks trade for Boozer and the lineup looks like this
Duhon-Iverson-Chandler-Boozer-Curry. The Knicks can be a playoff team. I think they can make the playoffs as a potential 7-8 seed.
Give me your opinion.

llperezIverson would be a great fit for the Knicks. Because they don’t have a first round pick, they probably want to go ahead and compete for the playoffs while not jeopardizing their cap flexibility for next year. If Iverson accepts a one year deal, then he would be a great fit. I think Iverson could still put up -star numbers, but you have to let him play the way he plays and not try to control him. Most young teams and veteran teams don’t want to do that. But the Knicks would probably be cool with letting Iverson do his thing and try and lead them to the playoffs.

DWadeBIWParticipantyour right on it, but i still like David Lee
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 12:32pm #193765
kong47272ParticipantI also Agree, sign him to a one year deal he could thrive in the system as the go to guy. I think you would get the best out of him and then still have all the cap room you want to for FA next year. Also helps Iverson show the league he still has something left in the tank.
its a low risk high reward option for the year.

dwat4444ParticipantSign in SA then trade to NYK for Curry and then NY can sign Lee. SA gets a center and NY gets to sign save money and still get betta

gatorheelsParticipantOff topic… but yall gotta go to youtube & listen to this type in “Eminem Mariah Carey Diss” song is tight
Eminem talks bad about Mariah haha

sakuragi84Participantgotta watch out for nick cannon. he’s going to get eminem back. hahahaha
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:33pm #193784
McWinningParticipantthat was so random! i dont see them as a playoff team. th east is getting tighter and theres gonna be more talented teams.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:36pm #193785

Knicksboy34ParticipantIf the Knicks add Iverson and Boozer…I think they can
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:36pm #193786

gatorheelsParticipantI wouldn’t sign Iverson. Even with Iverson & Boozer the Knicks still wouldn’t make the playoffs. I would like to see Douglas get a lot of playing time along with Hill. Knicks need to develop their young talent. I wouldn’t sign or trade for any old players really.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:42pm #193788

Knicksboy34ParticipantI disagree. I think adding Boozer and Iverson makes them one of the top 8 in the East. You can still give PT to Hill and Douglas.
I think the top 8 teams in the East right now are
Boston-Cleveland-Orlando-Toronto-Washington-Atlanta-Chicago-Miami
Adding Iverson and Boozer would make us better and deeper then Miami.

gatorheelsParticipantChalmers vs. Duhon Even
Wade vs. Iverson Wade has a big advantage
Beasley vs. Chandler Beasley has a slight adv
Haslem vs. Boozer Boozer has a pretty big adv
Oneal vs. Curry Oneal has a slight advI agree that the Knicks have the better bench.
Overall it would be very close. I would have to take Miami just because Wade is by far the best player on the court. I still like the 76ers better than both these teams. Also u think the Knicks are better than the Pistons & Bobcats?0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:53pm #193790

Knicksboy34ParticipantBobcats killed themselves with the Chandler trade.
Pistons…I dunno. I gotta see if Stuckey is a PG.
Sixers have no PG.I dunno. i think these questions have to be answered 1st. I even question the Bulls because who shoots the late game shots? I dont think it’s Rose or Salmons.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 1:56pm #193791

CLYDE-frazier10Participanti dont see bulls making playoffs
and 76ers r going to see brand on the ir the whole season again0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 2:04pm #193793

gatorheelsParticipantI am 100% sure the Bulls are making the playoffs ha. Personally I think they are a better team without Gordon. Starting Salmons at SG & Deng at SF makes their lineup tough. Salmons & Rose are both pretty clutch and will be willing to take shots late in games. Also James Johnson is going to have a positive impact. Plus they added Pargo who makes their bench even better.
As for the 76ers… yeah they don’t have a true PG but a combo of Williams & Holiday will be solid enough to be better than that Knicks squad. 76ers have a lot of talent especially on the wings. Plus with a healthy Brand it makes them very steady in the post.
I agree Bobcats killed themselves with Chandler. They also lost May & could lose Felton too.
I am not confident with Duhon running the show for the Knicks. I mean I would rather have a combo guard like Williams or Stuckey playing PG than Duhon.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 2:21pm #193798

Knicksboy34ParticipantPeople kill Duhon and I dont understand why? He is not that bad. He is a true PG, he a pass first player. I think he slowed down last season due to increased PT but if the Knicks add Iverson, you can have him play PG and have Chandler, Gallo, Hill and Darko (big line)
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:22pm #193839

esperanzafleet69Participantright but even if they didnt have boozer and had david lee they could…. plus if ai was on the knicks im bettin he puts down more than 25 a game

esperanzafleet69ParticipantI am not confident with Duhon running the show for the Knicks. I mean I would rather have a combo guard like Williams or Stuckey playing PG than Duhon.
wow one of the smartest things ive ever heard… a combo gaurd like that (or ai) would be ballin in that system… i especially would like to see stuckey in that type of offense
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:25pm #193840

JNixonParticipantDuhon is too unspectacular for fans to like. He’s not great at anything, but he can start up an offense. I think he’s a 2nd PG, but I dont see Tony Douglass as a starter either.
Douglass isnt a great offensive player because he cant shoot very good and almost looks uncomfortable creating shots for teammates, which isnt a good thing if your the PG of the future. He is a good defender though.
Iverson would be perfect for the Knicks. He is a scorer and he could have a Barbosa type role, which would be exactly what he needs at this point of his career because he wont survive if he plays too much.
Boozer would be a bad match and I doubt the Knicks are serious runners for him. They are trying to build a running team, and he’s too much of a half-court player. They would be forcing it, and after their failed experiments trying to make horses out of plodders with Randolph, Curry, Jerome James and Randolph Morris, it would be foolish to try again. I think their high on Hill, and thats why they arent trying hard to get Lee back (and their eyes are on 2010).
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:30pm #193844

Knicksboy34ParticipantDouglass isnt a great offensive player because he cant shoot very good and almost looks uncomfortable creating shots for teammates, which isnt a good thing if your the PG of the future. He is a good defender though.
what are you talking about?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:36pm #193845

JNixonParticipantRead what it says. If you think Toney Douglas is a starter in the NBA, your team is in trouble
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:49pm #193847

Knicksboy34ParticipantI never said he’s a starter. I think he has a good jumper going into the NBA. I watched the summer league games, he looked solid as a PG. I think in the future, he’s a backup PG who can score well and pass well. I think he will get spot min unless someone gets hurt.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:53pm #193848

JNixonParticipantHis jumper is OK, thats true. Im taking too much from summer league, where he didnt look good shooting. Your right, he was a decent shooter in college but I dont ever think he’ll look that good running an offense. He isnt a true PG.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:54pm #193849

Knicksboy34ParticipantI like “Saving for 2010” but we need to make the little moves and go for players with little risks.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:58pm #193852

JNixonParticipantIverson would fit the bill, and I think they should trade Curry if they can get something of decent value in return.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 4:59pm #193853

gatorheelsParticipantSessions needs to be signed. He can be the PG for the Knicks for a long time. I like Douglas as a combo guard coming off the bench. He is a pretty good scorer. So yeah I would sign Sessions but that is it. 2010 is going to be good to the Knicks I have feeling.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:03pm #193856

Knicksboy34ParticipantIf we trade Curry….2 superstars in 2010
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:05pm #193857

gatorheelsParticipantI agree
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:07pm #193859

JNixonParticipantSessions would be a match made in heaven for them. He would solidify them at the point. I agree. But everyone is dogging Jordan Hill. I think he will be an above average starter at PF, he has a tenacity and explosiveness around the rim that you have to like.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:12pm #193861

Knicksboy34ParticipantI think the Knicks need to look for a shooter as well.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:21pm #193863

gatorheelsParticipantIf the Knicks need a shooter/scoring SG… then McCants should be their target. He isn’t asking for a ton of money either….bargain IMO. I know yall think I’m biased but I really am being honest. I think he is the best SG left on the free agent market right now. I know Iverson is good but McCants is younger with some potential & will come at a cheaper price. I also think McCants can help the Knicks more than Nate can.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:22pm #193866

JNixonParticipantVon Wafer and McCants would fit in good with the Knicks.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:38pm #193885

ballinbParticipantyea a.i wud score but this is not a great fit. he’s a undersized 2guard that isnt a lights out shooter and holds on2 the ball 4 way 2 long. bad enough we have al harrington creating offense, smh. our knicks are far from a playoff team. i like duhon but hes a below average pg. we have a little talent in nate, david, wilson, and harrington(just a scorer who creates mismatches, really a 6th man in my opinion)everyone else is just serviceable. i pray ramon sessions can bring some flair if the jnicks sign him but really all he has is the ability 2 shine on a talentless, small market team. the gardens bright lights can possibly be 2 much for him to handle.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:50pm #193896

ballinbParticipantnate will be a 6th man of year candidte for every year he comes off the bench. mccants definitly hasnt shown he could be a starter or a six man yet. Nate also has shown the ability to rack up double digit assist numbers and is a lights out scorer……”I also think McCants can help the Knicks more than Nate can.” bad call
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 5:52pm #193899

knicksfreakParticipantI’d take Iverson for a season. This season is a freebie since everybody knows that we’re all about 2010 and our record doesnt matter since we have no 1st rounder. He can sell tickets and maybe propel us to the playoffs. Also, if we only sign him for 1 year then we will have more cap space than if we were to sign Sessions.
If we also get Boozer then I guarantee the Knicks are a playoff team.
Boozer
Harrington
Chandler
Hughes
IversonThat could be a sick possible lineup. Anyone can put up impressive assist numbers in this system.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 6:05pm #193910

CLYDE-frazier10Participantbetter version of marbury is what my cuzin said about ai.
i dont agree cuz AI is a hall of famer, peoplpe will be excited to see him in NY. He will show every1 he can still play ball and hes really showin he can still play so he can sign bi money (probably with a bad team next year) but if they get boozer i know im commin to MSG alot this year.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 11:02pm #196791
